Gionee has started rolling Android 4.4 (KitKat) update for the Pioneer P4 smartphone in India. It went on sale in India back in April running Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) OS. The company rolled out KitKat update for the Elife E7 mini and Elife S5.5 smartphones in India recently. Sony Mobile has announced the Xperia M2 Aqua, a waterproof version of the Xperia M2 that was launched earlier this year. It has a 4.8-inch (960 x 540 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). HTC has finally announced the Butterfly 2 for the Asian markets, after several rumors. It was unveiled for Japan’s KDDI as J Butterfly (HTL23) last month, today the company has officially unveiled the smartphone at an event in Japan. The HTC Butterfly 2 was also announced simultaneously in Taiwan. It has a 5-inch 1080p display, powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with Sense 6 UI. Sony has started rolling out Android 4.4 (KitKat) update for the Xperia M2 and Xperia M2 Dual smartphones, as it promised.
