Airtel launches 4G LTE services in Sri City

Airtel has launched its 4G LTE services in industrial township of Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, commercially. Airtel launched 4G services in 296 towns across India in August. Airtel 4G is available to customers across mobile phones, dongles, 4G hotspots and Wi-Fi dongles in the city. Airtel has become the first telecom services provider to introduce super fast 4G speeds in Sri City. Bharti Airtel announced its network transformation program – Project Leap last month, aimed at improving network quality and also said that will invest Rs. 60,000 crores in the next 3 years. Last week it announced that it has commenced the implementation of the transformation program in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana Circle. Reliance Jio expected to launch 4G in select areas by Dec 28, pan-India roll out in Q2 2016: report

Reliance Jio Infocomm, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) already said that it plans to launch commercial 4G around December. Now a new report from Bank of America Merrill Lynch says that it expects a small scale launch of Reliance Jio Infocomm’s 4G services by the end of December in select areas, especially in Mumbai, according to ET. Vodafone launches 4G LTE services in India starting from Kochi

Vodafone has launched its 4G LTE services in Kochi, Kerala in India, as expected. It is based on 1800MHz FDD-LTE band 3, which the company acquired last year. It is offering free 4G upgrade with a SIM, with a trial pack of 120MB at Rs 29 and a bonanza pack of 20GB at Rs. 2499. Vodafone 4G services will be available to customers in Kochi starting from December 14. Vodafone already announced that it will roll out 4G services in Trivandrum and Kozhikode in Kerala in the first wave of the roll-out in a phased manner. Vodafone expected to launch 4G services in India on December 8 starting from Kerala

Vodafone India has sent out invites to announce a “new strategic national initiative to enhance mobile internet experience” at an event in Kochi, Kerala on December 8th. Aircel announced a new first-of-its-kind Free Basic Internet offer for its customers last month. Today it launched it in Jammu & Kashmir. All new prepaid customers in J&K can now browse and actively use their favorite applications such as Whatsapp, Facebook, Twitter at Rs. 144, which offers unlimited data with a speed of 64Kbps and 90 days validity. The offer is aimed at fuelling mobile internet adoption in J&K, keeping in view that a considerable population of mobile phone users is still offline, said the company.

The new pack offers 100-167 minutes of free incoming and outgoing local and STD calls on roaming, depending on the circle and also offers additional benefit of free 100MB 2G or 3G data. Priced between Rs.35 and Rs. 51 depending on the circle, the pack is available in nine circles – Andhra Pradesh, Chennai, Delhi, Karnataka, Mumbai, Maharashtra, Orissa, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu in India and comes with a validity of 30 days.
