Vodafone launches 4G LTE services in Kolkata

Vodafone has launched its 4G LTE services in Kolkata after a month of launching its 4G services in Kerala. It was launched in Mysore earlier this month. It is based on 1800MHz FDD-LTE band 3 and is built on a strong fibre backhaul. Vodafone 4G is available in BBD Bag, Park Street, Alipore, Ballygunge, Salt Lake Sector 5, Airport and EM bypass in the circle and the roll-out will be completed across all parts of Kolkata by June 2016 in a phased manner. Airtel launches 4G LTE in Manjeri, Tirurangadi and Thalaserry, now in 50 towns in Kerala

Airtel has commercially launched its 4G LTE services in Kochi in Manjeri, Tirurangadi & Thalaserry in Kerala. With this Airtel 4G is now present in 50 towns in Kerala. It launched 4G services in 296 towns across India earlier back in August last year. It was launched in Kochi in the same month and in Thiruvananthapuram in September. Airtel 4G is available to customers across mobile phones, dongles, 4G hotspots and Wi-Fi dongles in the city. For existing Airtel customers, the company is offering a complimentary upgrade to Airtel 4G at same price as 3G. Aircel has launched a new unlimited STD on-net (Aircel to Aircel) voice calling pack for its customers across India. It is priced at Rs. 194 and is available for both new and existing pre-paid customers, but the validity varies across circles. “The pack will enable customers in India to stay connected with their friends and family at most affordable STD calling,” said the company. Vodafone offering 4G-ready SIMs in Delhi ahead of 4G roll out

Vodafone has started offering 4G-ready SIM cards in Delhi & NCR region through Vodafone stores, ahead of 4G roll out in the circle. It will be based on 1800MHz FDD-LTE band 3, which the company acquired last year. Back in October last year it promised to roll out 4G services in Delhi/NCR region by December, but it got delayed. Vodafone is said to be in talks to acquire broadband service provider YOU Broadband, according to a latest report from the Economic Times. The deal is tipped to be priced at Rs 400 crore, said the report.

Idea today launched its 4G LTE services across four more states or three telecom circles – Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana and Punjab, three weeks after it launched 4G services across five states in South India – Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Telangana. Idea said that its 4G LTE services will be available across 183 towns in these circles by 31st January 2016. It also said that it has received over 1.5 million 4G service requests from existing customers on its pre-book offer. Vodafone has launched its 4G LTE services in Mysore (Mysuru), Karnataka after a month of launching its 4G services in Kerala. It is based on 1800MHz FDD-LTE band 3, which the company acquired last year. “It is built on a strong fibre back-haul, and is supported by new and superfast 3G services on a modern network of 2100 MHz,” said the company. Vodafone has launched its 4G LTE services in Kozhikode (Calicut), Kerala, almost a month after launching LTE services in the country starting from Kochi. It is based on 1800MHz FDD-LTE band 3, which the company acquired last year. Its 4G service in Kozhikode is built over fibre backhaul, and is supported by its 3G services on a network of 2100 MHz. It has over 2,000 games across genres such as sports, racing adventure, kids and puzzles, including premium and paid titles at no additional cost. “Wynk Games, bundled with Airtel data packs aims to similarly stimulate consumption of this category. Aimed at providing a comprehensive range of ‘Wynk Games’, Airtel has tied up with Playphone Inc., a GungHo Subsidiaria and Softbank group company based in San Mateo, California. This alliance presents exciting opportunities for Indian developers as well,” said Airtel.

In the first phase it will be available across 75 Towns in Southern India, which includes Kochi, Hosur, Kadapa, Malapuram, Madurai, Mysore, Rajahmundry, Tiruchirappalli, Tirunelveli, Tiruppur, Vijayawada and Vishakhapatnam, while Belgaum, Calicut, Cuddalore, Chitradurga, Guntur, Kakinada, Kancheepuram and Trichur will follow by 31st December 2015, said Idea. Airtel has launched its 4G LTE services in industrial township of Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, commercially. Airtel launched 4G services in 296 towns across India in August. Airtel 4G is available to customers across mobile phones, dongles, 4G hotspots and Wi-Fi dongles in the city. Airtel has become the first telecom services provider to introduce super fast 4G speeds in Sri City.
