Airtel has launched its 4G LTE services in Sivakasi and Villupuram in Tamilnadu. It was the first operator to launch 4G in Tamilnadu back in June 2015. It was launched in Chidambaram, Sriperumbudur and Karaikudi in the state last month and is already available in Coimbatore, Erode, Hosur, Madurai, Pondicherry, Salem, Tirunelveli, Tirupur, Trichy, Vellore, Cuddalore, Ambur, Rajapalayam, Kovilpatti, Periyanaicken-palayam (Tp), Namakkal and Gudiyatham.

Idea Cellular has expanded its 4G LTE services in three more towns in Tamil Nadu that includes major towns of Coimbatore, Pondicherry and in the industrial belt of Gummidipoondi. Vodafone launched 4G services in Mysore and Bengaluru earlier this year, now it has announced that Vodafone SuperNet 4G has been rolled out across Karnataka benefiting over 72 lakh customers. It is based on 1800 MHz spectrum band and is supported by a strong backhaul of 3G network. Vodafone also announced that it has added more than 2000 cell sites across Karnataka to launch its 4G network in Bengaluru and Mysuru.

After launching its 4G LTE services or SuperNet 4G in 5 circles – Kerala, Karnataka, Mumbai, Delhi & NCR and Kolkata, Vodafone has announced that it will launch 4G services in Gujarat, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh (East) and West Bengal in the second phase of roll out. “The nine circles of Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Karnataka, Kerala, Haryana, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh (East) and West Bengal, together contribute to just under 70% of Vodafone India’s data revenues,” said the company.

Idea Cellular has selected Nokia to provide the technology for its 4G LTE rollout in three of its key regional circles – Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Haryana. Nokia will also expand Idea Cellular’s 3G network in four circles, as well as modernizing and expanding its 2G networks in six circles.
