Idea Cellular has launched new tariff voucher in UP West and Uttrakhand customers that would let them make local on-net (Idea to Idea) calls at just 10 paise per minute. This is available through a special tariff voucher (STV) priced at Rs.28. Idea launched similar plans in Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat last year.

Tata Docomo cuts Photon Plus tariffs, introduces Reload Packs
Tata Docomo has reduced the Photon Plus tariffs for the post-paid customers. The Rs. 950 plan offers 6GB of free data and the Rs.1200 plan offers 11 GB of free data. These plan comes with unlimited data that would offer up to 3.1 Mbps data speeds till the free data limit after that speed would be throttled to 153.6Kbps. These new unlimited plans also offer cash back of Rs 100 per month for 12 months from date of purchase. They have also reduced the cost of base plans. MTS launches new STD Voice and MBlaze Data packs for Tamil Nadu customers
MTS has launched new STD Voice Special Tariff Voucher (STV) and introduced MBlaze Data packs for their customers in Tamil Nadu. The new Rs.25 Special Tariff Voucher (STV) offers STD calls at 25 paisa per minute with a validity of 30 days. It will be valid for the first 250 minutes of STD calling, post that customers would be charged 50 paisa per minute for STD calls. MTS launches mPOS card payment acceptance service
MTS has launched a new service called MTS mPOS (Mobile as Point of Sale) that offers acceptance of card-based payments through mobile phones and tablets. This service reduces the high hardware costs of a conventional POS terminal and the monthly maintenance charges and would be useful for useful for retailers, home-delivery based service models like e-commerce players, food chains etc. PayMate launched similar service and the app called PayPOS last month. Airtel has launched, Airtel Rising Stars, a new under-16 soccer talent hunt that would choose 12 talented footballers who will get the chance-to attend a week long training camp with Manchester United in Old Trafford, England. Vodafone officially announces new 3G data plans
Vodafone has officially announced its new 3G data plans. Vodafone reduced its 3G tariffs for pre-paid customers last month, but the plans were not clear. Later they announced post-paid 3G plans that were applicable only in select circles. These new plans start from Rs. 25 for 25 MB data usage and go up to Rs. 1599 for 12 GB of data usage. Last week we were at the Idea Cellular’s Mumbai office for the launch of Idea 3G Dual Sim smartphone iD-918 priced at Rs. 5994. This is Idea’s 3rd Android smartphone launched in India and it runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). We managed to get the first unboxing of Idea iD-918 and also played with this nice looking device. MTS launches new MBlaze plans, revises existing plans in Kolkata and West Bengal
MTS has reduced their existing tariff plans and has also introduced new plans for MBlaze customers in Kolkata and West Bengal circle. The new Rs. 45, Rs. 105, Rs. 490 would offer 150 MB, 300 MB and 3 GB of free data. The Rs. 45 plan comes with 7 days validity and the other plans come with 30 days validity. They have also introduced Rs. 698 plan with 4 GB of free data with 60 days validity. Other select plans would offer 3 times more data (Eg: Rs 198 that offered 200 MB free data would now offer 750 MB free data with 30 days validity.
