Vodafone to accept Aadhaar as Identity and Address proof for a new connection

Vodafone has been appointed as the official Authentication Service Agency (ASA) and Authentication User Agency (AUA) of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). They launched the Proof of Concept (PoC) for use of Aadhaar as valid Proof of Identity (PoI) and Proof of Address (PoA) using the Aadhaar online authentication procedure in Andhra Pradesh. MTS launches MTag 353 Android Smartphone for Rs. 5999

MTS has launched their new Android Smartphone MTag 353. It is powered by a 800 MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 Processor and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), similar to the MTag 351, MTag 352 and MTag 281 that was launched in August. Leak: Nokia Atlas for Verizon Wireless (warning: it’s hideous)

Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 operating system is due to launch on the 29th of October in San Francisco. Devices will start shipping soon after, which means the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 are still several weeks away. Now when it comes to pricing, different markets have different business models. In many parts of Europe and Asia, people buy their phones unsubsidized, meaning they pay the full price of the device. That makes buying something like the iPhone 5, which sells for about 680 EUR, a very painful proposition. In America however, consumers sign two year contracts in exchange for a substantial discount. Nokia Lumia 920 and 820 coming to AT&T in November

AT&T has announced they would sell both the Nokia Lumia 920 and Nokia Lumia 820, Nokia’s latest Windows Phone 8 devices. Both these devices were announced last month at an Event in New York, and the price of these phones were revealed for some European countries last week. The Lumia 920 has a 4.5-inch PureMotion HD+ display, while the 820 comes with a 4.3 inch-inch (800 x 480 pixels) OLED  ClearBlack display. Both these phones are powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor and has a 8 megapixel rear-facing camera with 1080p HD video recording. Spice Stellar Horizon finally goes on sale in India for Rs. 12499

Spice Stellar Horizon (Mi-500) is finally available in India from online retailer Saholic. Spice unveiled the Stellar Horizon along with the other Android Smartphones, Stellar and Stellar Craze, but it was delayed.  It has a 5-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It was supposed to come with a 1GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, but MediaTek announced that the phone would be powered by their new 1 GHz dual-core MT6577 processor. MTS launches mAd, lets you make free local calls by watching Video Ads


MTS has launched a new Mobile Advertising Service called mAd. This service would let the customers watch a short video Ad on their device before a call and get free local calling minutes. It doesn’t have any activation charges, application download charges and data transfer charges while viewing video ads. Popular brands such as Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Mentos, Center Fresh, Fiat, Kellogg’s, Titan, Lenovo have partnered with MTS for this service. Airtel launches Unlimited Internet plan for pre-paid customers at Rs. 149


Airtel has launched a new unlimited internet pack for pre-paid subscribers. This new pack costs Rs. 149 that would offer unlimited internet usages up to 2GB on 2G, after that the speed would be throttled to 40 Kbps and would remain unlimited.
