Pan-India Mobile Number Portability will be available from May 3

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) had released recommendations for Pan-India Mobile Number Portability (MNP) back in September 2013. At that time it said that it would recommend 6 months for the operators to roll out full MNP across the country. Later on 3rd November it had issued amendment to implement Full MNP in the country in 6 months from the date of amendment, i.e 3rd May. Today it has made some changes to it and issued a 6th amendment to the Telecommunication Mobile Number Portability Regulations, 2009. Videocon Telecom to rollout 4G LTE FDD services in 29 cities across UP and Bihar

Videocon Telecom has announced that it plans to roll out 4G LTT FDD services on 1800 Mhz across 29 key cities UP (East), UP (West) and Bihar circles. It will invest over Rs 1200 crores in next 3 years for 4G roll out in the cities across these 3 circles. It holds 5Mhz liberalized spectrum in the 1800 Mhz band in the circles. RCOM offers free access to Twitter during World Cup 2015, introduces data recharge offers

Reliance Communications, Global Telecom Sponsor of the ICC World Cup 2015, has partnered with Twitter to provide RCOM customers free access to match updates via Twitter during World Cup. Twitter already introduced ICC Cricket World Cup timeline for following match updates. This allows customers who do not have a Twitter account access cricket-related Tweets by logging on to rcom.co.in/cricket on their mobile phones from 13th February to 31st March 2015, during the world cup. Few months back Opera and Idea Cellular teamed up with Quikr who sponsored for mobile data for Opera customers using Idea connection in India. Now Opera has teamed up with FreeCharge, an e-commerce player who has sponsored free data for Vodafone and Idea subscribers using Opera Mini web browser. Vodafone India has announced it has applied to the country’s central bank for a permit to operate a payments bank as the world’s largest network looks to bring basic banking service to its millions of Indian customers. As expected for quite some time, EE have today confirmed that the Orange and T-Mobile brands are now officially closing in the UK. Bharti Airtel to apply for Bank Payment license

Bharti Airtel Limited has announced that it will apply for payments bank license. The company is seeking to convert its existing Prepaid Payment Instrument license into a payments bank license to be issued by the Reserve Bank of India.
