Few weeks after introducing the Flash X Plus, ZOPO today launched ZOPO Color X 5.5, its latest smartphone in the ‘Color series’ in India. It packs a 5.5-inch HD display, is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6737, runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). Paytm Mall, Paytm’s e-marketplace today rolled out a new feature that will allow consumers to place online orders at physical stores using QR Code. Paytm said that thousands of Paytm Partner stores can now start selling Samsung smartphones without hassles of inventory and logistics. Flipkart just announced that it has acquired eBay’s India business, after a report last week. It acquired Myntra back in 2014 in India’s biggest e-commerce deal and acquired Jabong, PhonePe UPI-based app last year.
Coolpad launched Cool 1 with dual 13-megapixel rear cameras last year. Today it has launched 3GB RAM version of the phone, compared to 4GB RAM version. Other specifications are same, including a 5.5-inch 1080p display, Octa-Core Snapdragon 652 SoC, Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) and a 8-megapixel front-facing camera.
Vivo introduced limited IPL Edition version of the V5 Plus smartphone earlier this week to celebrate the 10 years of IPL, but it did not announce the price. Today the company has launched the smartphone in country and announced the price as well. It has the same specifications as the V5 Plus, including 20-megapixel front-facing camera with Sony IMX376 1/2.78″ sensor, f/2.0 aperture and an 8-megapixel secondary font-facing camera for capturing depth information. Apple announced new 9.7-inch iPad last month to replace the iPad Air 2 that was introduced in 2014. It is now available for pre-order from Flipkart in India. It has the same 9.7-inch Retina display, but this is powered by A9 chip and M9 motion coprocessor. It Touch ID fingerprint sensor and is just 7.5 mm thick. It also has a 8-megapixel camera and a 1.2-megapixel FaceTime HD front camera.
Xiaomi has surpassed Apple and Samsung to become the most preferred smartphone upgrade choice for Indian consumers in 2017, according to a report by research firm Strategy Analytics. 26 percent of potential Android buyers looking to upgrade their devices in 2017 list Xiaomi as their preferred brand. Samsung today launched Galaxy C7 Pro (SM-C7010), successor of the Galaxy C7 in the Galaxy ‘C Series’ in India. It was announced in China earlier this year, and packs a a 5.7-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display, is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 626 14nm SoC, runs on Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) with Samsung’s own UI on top, has a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/1.9 aperture, dual-tone LED flash and a 16-megapixel front-facing camera.
Airtel today announced that it has deployed 180,000 mobile sites across India, which is double the amount of its mobile network deployment over the past two years. It said that the deployment in the last two years is same as total sites deployed in the first 20 years of operations. Sansui has launched Horizon 1, a budget budget 4G smartphone with VoLTE support. It has a 4.5-inch FWVGA display, is powered by a quad-core Spreadtrum processor, runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow), has a 5-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and a 3.2-megapixel front-facing camera that also has LED flash for capturing better selfies even in low lighting conditions.
