Facebook has officially announced the commercial launch of Express Wi-Fi in India. The social network was testing this service in the country since August last year. OPPO just launched F3, the company’s latest selfie-focused smartphone in the ‘F Series’ at an event in India, as it had promised. It is the smaller variant of the F3 Plus that was launched back in March. It has the same 16-megapixel front-facing camera with 1/3.1-inch sensor and f/2.0 aperture along with an 8-megapixel secondary front camera with 120-degree wide-angle lens for capturing better group selfies that is present on the F3 Plus. Xiaomi to launch its first Mi Home store in India in Bengaluru

Xiaomi just sent out invites for the inauguration of its first Mi Home store in India in Bengaluru, as it had promised last year. Xiaomi’s Mi Home store will be offering a range of products such as portable speakers, power banks, headphones, Mi Band, Mi Air Purifier and more, as mentioned in the invite, but it is not clear if it will sell smartphones at the launch.

135 million Aadhaar numbers leaked through government portals, reveals report

Centre for Internet & Society (CIS) has released a new report titled “Information Security Practices of Aadhaar (or lack thereof): A documentation of public availability of Aadhaar Numbers with sensitive personal financial information” that reveals that four government portals including National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP)’s dashboard and the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA)’s portal have leaked around 130 to 135 million Aadhaar numbers publicly. TRAI releases consultation paper on Network testing before commercial launch

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released a consultation paper on ‘Network testing before commercial launch of services’, following complaints by telecom operators against Reliance Jio over subscriber enrollment during its test phase prior to rolling out commercial services. “This is to discuss issues involved, possible solutions and framework to bring clarity on the matter,” said TRAI.
