LG today at the India Mobile Congress 2017 in New Delhi launched the LG K7i smartphone with Mosquito Away Technology that will keep mosquitoes away by creating Ultrasonic noise inaudible to human with the Mosquito Away cover that has a separate hardware built into it. It also comes with a Mosquito Away Stand. You also get a normal back cover with the phone. LG claims that this is the first phone in the world to feature this technology. After launching Voice over LTE (VoLTE) services in India starting from Mumbai, Airtel is all set to launch VoLTE in Chennai. The company is in advanced stages of testing the services in the city and the launch is expected next month. This will enable Airtel customers enjoy HD quality voice calls along with faster call set up time compared to normal voice calls on their VoLTE-compatible 4G handsets. ZOPO has launched Flash X1 and Flash X2, the company’s latest smartphones in the ‘Flash series’ with 18:9 full screen displays with 83% screen-to-body ratio, which the company says are the cheapest full screen phones in the country. Reliance introduced its first VoLTE feature phone, the JioPhone at its 40th annual general body meeting. The company had announced that the JioPhone is effectively free, but to avoid misuse, Reliance was collecting INR 1500 as a security deposit.
The deal offered the JioPhone user to use his phone for 36 months and be eligible to get a full refund of the security deposit by returning the used JioPhone. Reliance has now published a detailed terms and conditions of JioPhone usage, which reveals some of the asterisks of the free claim. Xiaomi has launched Mi Bluetooth Speaker Basic 2, its latest speaker in India. It has compact body that encloses dual speaker unit offering higher fidelity sound and weighs just 237 grams. It has matte aluminum frame, a soft white face, and chamfered edges. It also has AUX in port that connect other devices that doesn’t have Bluetooth support.

HMD Global just launched its flagship Nokia 8 smartphone in India, as expected. It was announced last month and packs a 5.3-inch Quad HD display with sculpted Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform and runs on Android 7.1.1 (Nougat), which is also upgradable to Android O update. it has 13-megapixel dual rear cameras, one with a color sensor and the other with a monochrome sensor for low light and dedicated black and white photography. In a bid to curb mobile thefts in India, the government has made tampering of IMEI number a punishable offence that can attract jail term of up to three years. An IMEI number is a unique 15-digit serial number of mobile devices. The move will help curb issues pertaining to fake IMEI numbers and also ease tracking of lost mobile phones.
