The Apple iPhone 4S was launched on both Aircel and Airtel in India today at a midnight launch ceremony. The Airtel launch was held at an upscale restaurant while Aircel decided to keep it real by holding the event at their South Extension market retail outlet. The launch events included handing over the handsets to the first pre-order customers.

RIM has launched the BlackBerry Bold 9790 in India. It comes with 2.4-inch (480 x 360 pixels) capacitive touch screen display with 246 dpi and a Full QWERTY keyboard. It is powered by 1 GHz processor and runs on the latest BlackBerry OS7. It was announced last week along with the Curve 9350 that was also launched today. RIM has launched the BlackBerry Curve 9380 and the Curve 9350 in India. The Curve 9380 is the first all-touch smartphone in the BlackBerry Curve family. It comes with 3.2-inch (480 x 360 pixels) touch screen display with 188 ppi, optical trackpad and navigation keys. The Curve 9350 is the CDMA version of the Curve 9360 that was launched in September . It has an 2.44-inch (480 × 360 pixels) touch screen display with 246 ppi and a Full QWERTY keyboard . The Curve 9380 is powered by 806 MHz processor and the Curve 9350 is powered by 800 MHz processor . Both these phones comes with preinstalled social networking apps, including BBM (BlackBerry Messenger), Facebook, Twitter and Social Feeds apps. Airtel has announced the pricing for both the pre-paid and the post-paid plans for the iPhone 4S. They started pre-orders for the iPhone 4S last week and it is expected to be available from 25th November. The 16GB version comes at Rs.44,500 and the 32GB is available for Rs.50,900. These plans offer free Local Minutes, Local and National SMS and 3G Data. Aircel has already revealed their post-paid plans for the iPhone 4S earlier this week. LG India has officially launched 2 new Android phones, LG Optimus Pro and Optimus Net. These phones run on Android 2.3 and powered by 800 MHz CPU. The LG Optimus PRO has the combination of touch and QWERTY and features a unique Portrait Touch Screen that allows user to read and write up to 16 lines as compared to 8-10 lines in the normal screens. The QWERTY keypad with dedicated shortcuts will enable smartphone users to multitask. When HTC launched the 3G+WiFi of it’s 7 inch Android tablet in India for Rs.39890 in June this year , we were immensely disappointed about the price tag. It was an impressive tablet with decent battery life. Now if you gave the Flyer a pass for the same reason, good news for you. The price of the tablet has been cut by almost 50%. Motorola has officially launched the Motorola RAZR in India. The Motorola RAZR is the thinnest smartphone till date with 7.1 mm thickness, which is about 1.5mm slimmer than the previous slimmest smartphone the Samsung Galaxy S2. It it is made with KEVLAR fiber and features 4.3-inch (960 x 540 pixels) Super AMOLED hyper-vibrant display and it is powered by 1.2 GHz dual core processor. While we got some news about the Apple iPhone 4S pricing from Aircel , we now have the pricing from Airtel. Its not looking very different.The 16GB model is about Rs.400 lesser than on Aircel and priced at Rs.44500.There is a 64GB option at Rs.57500. The 32GB model is priced exactly the same at Rs.50900. Looks like Airtel is taking pre-bookings online . Apple does not directly sell iPhones in India and operators actually procure them and sell it here. The iPhone 4 pricing at Rs.34500 was actually pretty decent. But the iPhone 4S pricing seems very high. There is also news that the iPhone 4 8GB version will cost Rs.37900 and the 3GS will cost Rs.20900. That looks like an increase in the cost of the iPhone 4 as well. We have just heard that the Apple iPhone 4S wont be coming for cheap in India. The price of the 16GB and 32GB variants on Aircel are out . The cheapest version of the iPhone 4S which is the 16GB version will come for Rs.44900 and the 32GB version will retail for a shocking Rs.50900. This information comes from a Nidhi Singal who walked into a Aircel store in the capital New Delhi and got this information. As you would know both Airtel and Aircel announced that they are launching the iPhone 4S in India . Both the operators are starting Pre-Orders from Nov 18 that is today and with this kind of pricing I’m not sure how many users would actually still think of getting one. LG Optimus 2X would get the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) update this month says LG India in their Tweet. The LG Optimus 2X launched in India this April and it runs on Android 2.2 (Froyo). It was expected to be available in June or July but it got delayed. LG has officially confirmed earlier this week that the LG Optimus 3D would receive the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) along with lots of enhancements.
