Launched way back in January after a lukewarm reception for the Waterloo company’s new Blackberry 10 operating system, the Q10’s main aim is to bring the QWERTY keyboard that the company helped popularize, back in vogue, in a touchscreen dominated world. The device was launched after the full touch flagship, the Blackberry Z10, signaling the company’s move to a complete touch experience at its fore, but to keep the fans happy, the Q10 had to release eventually. And yes, it has finally landed in India, with a hefty price tag of Rs. 44,999. It marched into our labs the same day, and here are our first impressions of the device.

Samsung Galaxy Note price drops to Rs. 21500


Samsung has cut the price of the Galaxy Note, that is now available for Rs. 21,500 in India. The Galaxy Note was launched in India at Rs. 34,990 (MRP) in November 2011. It got the first price cut to Rs. 29,990 back in September last year and received another price cut in December to Rs. 27,500. Samsung offered 15% cash back for the Galaxy Note 2 last month through credit and debit cards and the Samsung OWN NOW Zero % interest offer on credit cards is also applicable for Note. BlackBerry Q10 launched in India for Rs. 44990

BlacBerry has finally launched the BlackBerry Q10, their first BlackBerry 10 smartphone with a QWERTY keyboard in India as we reported recently. It was announced back in January. It comes with a 3.1-inch (720 x 720 pixels) Super AMOLED capactive touch screen display at 330 PPI pixel density which is the  largest ever on a BlackBerry QWERTY smartphone.  It has a 35-key QWERTY physical with wider layout and larger sculpted keys. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core  processor, packs a 2GB RAM, 16GB of inbuilt memory and supports microSD cards upto 64 GB.

Here we have benchmarks of the device. The phone is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 MSM8625Q processor with Adreno 203 GPU similar to the Karbonn Titanium S5 that we reviewed recently. Huawei has officially launched the MediaPad 10 Link, the company’s latest flagship Android tablet in India. It went on pre-order in India last week. Huawei is calling it ‘the mini theatre’. It has a 10.1-inch HD (1280 x 800 pixels) display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Huawei Hi-Silicon Processor with 16 Core GPU and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 3-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. It has 3G support via SIM card slot,  Dolby Surround Sound and packs a 6600 mAh battery that promises 6 hours of continuous gaming or 8 hours of continuous video playback. Amongst the ones launched, the Lenovo A390 is a entry level Android ICS 4.0.4 phone that comes at a price of Rs. 8,689. Sporting a 4 inch WVGA display and powered by a 1 GHz MTK6577 dual core processor, the phone aims to satisfy new smartphone buyers as well as budget minded smartphone buyers. It has 512 MB of RAM with 4 GB of internal storage and claims to pack a decent 5 megapixel camera unit, without a LED flash.

Lenovo A706 launched in India, 4.5 inch FWGA display, Quad Core processor and 2000 mAH battery for Rs. 15949

Lenovo has launched a total of six smartphones today, at an event in New Delhi, India. Amongst the six, the Lenovo A706 is a mid range model with modest specs and a equally modest price. With a 4.5 inch FWGA 854×480 display, the A706 might be lacking when directly compared with the 5 inch 720p displays in competing phones of the same price range, but it makes up for it in having an IPS display. The device is powered by a 1GHz quad core processor, and if our assumptions are true, it is a slightly underclocked version of the Snapdragon 200 MSM8225Q with Adreno 203 graphics. Priced at Rs. 15,949, this is Lenovo’s play at the mid range.

Lenovo K900 with 2 GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2580 processor launched in India for Rs. 32999

Lenovo has finally launched the K900, the first Intel Clover Trail+ powered smartphone in India. It was unveiled at the CES 2013 earlier this year and was expected to launch in India last month. It has a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS display with at 419 PPI pixel density and Gorilla Glass 2 protection, powered by a  2 GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2580 processor with Intel Hyper-Threading technology to boost performance efficiency and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 13-megapixel Sony Exmor BSI sensor, LED Flash and F1.8 focal length lens for wide aperture. The 2-megapixel front-facing camera has 88 degree viewing angle. Lemon Aspire HD and Aspire Full HD with 720p and 1080p displays, quad-core processor coming soon

Lemon Mobiles launched the Aspire A1, the company’s latest flagship Android smartphone last month. Now the Aspire HD and Aspire Full HD, the company’s upcoming Android smartphones have surfaced on the official website. The Aspire HD would come with a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display and the Aspire Full HD would have a 5.3-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS display as the name suggests. These phones look identical to the Zopo ZP810 and the ZOPO ZP980 from the Chinese manufacturer Zopo.
