Sony Xperia L now available in India for Rs. 18990

Sony Xperia L that went on pre-order in India is now available from online retailer Snapdeal. The Xperia L was announced back in March along with the Xperia SP and packs a 4.3-inch (854 x 480 pixels) Scratch-resistant capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8230 processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It comes with a 8MP rear camera with LED Flash, Exmor RS sensor, 720p HD video recording and  a VGA front-facing camera. It also has a dedicated camera key and comes with a  LED notification light below the display. Sony Honami Cyber-shot camera phone to use a 1/1.6″ Exmor RS sensor ?

Details of the Sony Honami and Togari surfaced earlier this week. The phone is rumored to come with a 16MP or a 20MP Cyber-shot CMOS sensor with Carl Zeiss optics, Xenon flash and a dual LED flash. Now new details of the phone has emerged that reveals that the phone would have a 1/1.6″ Exmor RS stacked sensor with Sony Cybershot G Lens. It would have a Xenon or dual-LED flash, and plasma flash is also being considered.The camera would have a new user interface, new processing algorithm, similar to Sony’s Cyber-shot digital cameras and Superior Auto Scene Recognition feature, an enhancement to the Superior Auto mode in the Xperia Z/ZL.

Sony Xperia SP Benchmarks

Sony launched the Xperia SP in India earlier this month. Here we have the benchmarks of the device. It has a 4.6-inch 720p HD Reality Display with with Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2, powered by a 1.7 GHz Dual-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro MSM8960 processor with Adreno 320 GPU. The MSM8960 chip in the Xperia SP is based on 28-nanometer (nm) process technology that offers less power consumption, unlike the Xperia SL. Sony Honami smartphone rumored to have a 16MP or 20MP Cyber-shot camera and Xenon Flash

Details of the Sony’s flagship phones codenamed Honami and Togari have surfaced. Sony’s upcoming flagship phone Honami is expected to have a 5-inch 1080p display similar to the Xperia Z, but the main highlight of the phone would be the phone’s 16MP or a 20MP Cyber-shot CMOS sensor with Carl Zeiss optics, Xenon flash and a dual LED flash. It is also expected to have a Triluminos display that would offer vibrant colors according to VR-Zone and feature a dedicated Walkman audio chip for enhanced audio. Sony Xperia SP Unboxing

Sony announced the Xperia SP last month and its finally available in retail. We’ve been playing with the handset for a few days now but before we publish our review, here’s a quick unboxing to pique your interest!

Sony-Xperia-SP-1In terms of specifications, the handset is powered by a dual core 1.7Ghz processor. An 8MP camera can be spotted at the back. Running on Android Jelly Bean, the handset has a 4.6 inch 720p display. A very cool feature of the handset is its color changing led strip at the bottom. We’ll have more on that in the review. Sony Xperia P, go and E dual Android 4.1 update starts rolling out, Xperia S, SL and ion getting it from May end

Sony Mobile has announced that they have started rolling out Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) update  (v 6.2.A.0.400) for the Xperia P, Xperia go and the Xperia E dual. Sony Xperia J got the Jelly bean update last month, and the Xperia T and Xperia V got the update earlier this year. The Sony Xperia Tablet S got the Android 4.1 update last week. Sony confirmed Jelly Bean update for range of 2012 Xperia devices back in October. Sony Mobile has announced that the Xperia S,Xperia SL, Xperia ion and Xperia acro S would start receiving the Android 4.1 update from the end of May. Sony has started rolling out the the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) update for the Xperia Tablet S. The Xperia Tablet S was announced in August 2012 running Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Sony launched the Xperia SP in India last week at an MRP of Rs. 27490. The phone is now on sale from online retailer Infibeam. The Sony Xperia SP was announced last month and packs a 4.6-inch 720p HD Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2, powered by a 1.7 GHz Dual-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8960Pro processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 8MP auto focus camera with LED Flash, Exmor RS sensor and a VGA front-facing camera. Purple Sony Xperia Z Photo Gallery

You might have seen the Sony Xperia Z in the ads recently, and wondered why the purple one looks so unlike reality? Well, it’s rendered in CG and hence all you see are just fake reflections and colours. If you had read our Xperia Z review, you would know why we liked the waterproof aspect of this phone. We already had done a photo gallery too, but alas it was the white version. So, to show you the brilliant purple Xperia Z in its full “real” glory, we decided to take it out and give it a good look in front of our cameras. Sony Xperia Tablet Z was announced in Japan earlier this year.  At the MWC 2013 Sony announced that it would roll out globally from Q2 2013. Sony has started taking pre-orders for the Sony Xperia Tablet Z  (SGP321GB) 16GB LTE version. The Sony Xperia Tablet Z has a 10.1-inch HD (1920 x 1200 pixels) WUXGA Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz asynchronous quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean).
