Sony Mobile announces an event in Paris on July 4th, teases a slim Xperia smartphone

Sony Mobile has started sending press invite in France for an event on July 4th. Last week the company had announced an event in Germany on June 25th. The translation reads “Sony Mobile reserves a big surprise for you” and “Do not forget to mark your calendars!” part is shown written using a stylus. Looks like it might come with a stylus. It also shows the side part of the device which is pretty sleek with a new power button similar to the latest Xperia devices, 3.5mm audio jack, volume rocker and a dedicated camera button. Sony Xperia ZR up for pre-order in India at Rs. 29990

Sony Xperia ZR durable phone that was announced last month is now on pre-order from online retailers Flipkart and Infibeam. It has a 4.55-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) Reality display with mobile Bravia Engine 2 and is powered by 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm APQ 8064 processor with Adreno 320 GPU and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has IP55 and IP58 ratings for dust and water resistance. It packs a 13-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED Flash, Exmor RS sensor for HDR images and offers underwater image and video capture since it is water resistant up to 1.50 meters for up to 30 minutes.

Sony Mobile has started sending invites for a press event in Germany on 25th. The German translation says “Looking for More?” “It is time for the next step. On Tuesday, the 25th June 2013 15:00 we take a first look at the future together.” “More details will follow soon.” We don’t anything more than that, so we can only speculate on what the company will unveil at the event. It might be the Togari with a 6.4-inch 1080p display, or the Honami the rumored Cyber-shot camera phone or a completely new device. Sony launched the Xperia Tablet Z, the company’s latest flagship tablet in India recently. Here we have the benchmarks of the device. The Xperia Tablet Z was originally announced in Japan earlier this year, and it was announced for global markets at the MWC 2013. It packs a a 10.1-inch HD (1920 x 1200 pixels) WUXGA Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2, Shatter proof sheet on scratch-resistant glass, powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 ProAPQ8064 processor with Adreno 320 GPU and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). Sony Xperia M and M dual with 4-inch display, 1 GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.2 announced

Sony has announced the Xperia M and M dual the company’s new mid-range Android smartphones. These phones have a 4.0-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8227 processor with Adreno 305 GPU.  Xperia M dual comes with Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean), while the Xperia M would launch on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and is upgradable to Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash and 720p HD video recording and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. These phones are based on OmniBalance design similar to the Xperia Z, have LED illuminations for notification and NFC connectivity for one-touch functions. The Xperia M dual comes with dual SIM support with dual Standby. Sony has announced that they would start rolling out the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) update for the Xperia S, Xperia SL and Xperia acro S starting from today as they announced last month. The Sony Xperia P, Xperia go and the Xperia E dual got the Jelly Bean update last month. Sony confirmed Jelly Bean update for range of 2012 Xperia devices back in October. Sony Xperia Tablet Z launched in India for a price of Rs.46,990

Sony launched its Xperia Tablet Z at the Mobile World Congress and it recently went on pre-order for about Rs.44,990 at several online retailers in India, but now, at a launch event in New Delhi, Sony has finally launched it here, for a price of Rs. 46,990. Boasting a brilliant 10.1 inch 1920×1200 display, the tablet aims to be the big screened point of interaction for all of Sony’s services like Music unlimited and Movies. We had went hands on with the device back in February at the MWC event and were left quite impressed. But with a steep price, will it find its way into people’s hands? Only time will tell.

Sony Xperia L, a mid-range Android smartphone in the Xperia series went on sale in India earlier this month. We brought you the unboxing of the device earlier this week. Here we have benchmarks of the device. It has a 4.3-inch (854 x 480 pixels) Scratch-resistant capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8930 CPU with Adreno 305 GPU and runs on Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean). Sony Mobile has announced the Xperia UL (SOL22) for Japan. It has a 5-inch Full HD (1920×1080 pixels) Reality display with mobile Bravia Engine 2, powered by 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm APQ 8064 processor with Adreno 320 GPU and runs on 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 13.1-megapixel rear camera with BSI Exmor RS sensor Sensor, LED Flash and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. The rear camera can capture 15 burst shots per second. It has IPX5/8 and IPX5 ratings for water and dust resistance. Sony announced the Xperia A, a mid-range Android smartphone with a 4.55-inch HD display in Japan recently.

It has a 13MP camera with LED Flash, Exmor RS sensor for HDR images and  a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing canera. It has IP55 and IP58 ratings for dust and water resistance and has PlayStation Mobile support.
