Earlier this month Sony announced the list of devices that would get the Android 4.4 KitKat update. Now the Sony Mobile support page shows that the Xperia SP would also get the Android 4.4 update. All the devices that would get the Android 4.4 update would get the Android 4.3 update starting from December 2013. Some devices would directly be upgraded to Android 4.3 from Android 4.1 starting from December, and the Android KitKat update for these devices are under investigation. Sony introduced their first camera centric flagship – Sony Xperia Z1 at the IFA 2013 in Berlin. Sony Xperia Z1 had leaked numerous times prior to launch and when Sony announced it, nothing came as a surprise – even the 20.7MP camera. Sony Xperia Z1 has the biggest camera sensor on an Android smartphone, even bigger than the one on the camera-phone – Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom, but without the optical zoom.
Sony Xperia Z Ultra was launched by Sony sometime back before the IFA and it was Sony’s first phablet with a gigantic screen that was just millimeters away from being a tablet. Sony Xperia Z Ultra was the first smart device(we will try to avoid the term “phone”) to run on Snapdragon 800 and it sported a huge 6.44inch Full HD display. Xperia Z Ultra was a Galaxy Note competitor with a huge screen, but no in-built stylus. Sony announced that any pointed input item like a pencil could be used to write on the display instead of a single restricted stylus.

Sony Stylus ES22, a new stylus pen for the Xperia Z Ultra has appeared on the the official website. The Sony Xperia Z Ultra with a 6.44 Inch full HD Triluminous display was launched in India back in July, and we reviewed it in August. Since the phone has a super sensitive screen, you can use any stylus, a ordinary pencil or even a standard pen to interact with the touch screen, even though it doesn’t not detect pressure changes. Sony Mobile confirmed the first set of devices that would get the Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) update for range of devices back in July. Now the company has announced that they would roll out the Android 4.3 update for those devices starting from December. These devices include, Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, Xperia Tablet Z, Xperia SP, Xperia Z Ultra and Xperia Z1. Sony had also announced that elect (2012) Xperia devices running Android 4.1 would be updated directly to 4.3, skipping the Android 4.2. Now the company has revealed that the Xperia T, Xperia TX and the Xperia V will be upgraded to Android Jelly Bean 4.3 from next month. Sony Xperia Z1 is the Japanese company’s latest flagship and it was announced at IFA 2013 in Berlin. Sony Xperia Z1 had been the victim of numerous leaks prior to launch and when Sony announced it, nothing came as a surprise – even the 20.7MP camera. The 20.7 MP is one among the key features of Xperia Z1 and it makes it the smartphone with the biggest camera sensor on an Android smartphone, even bigger than the one on the camera-phone – Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom, but without the optical zoom.
HTC One was announced in early half of 2013 during February before the MWC 2013. At IFA 2013 in Berlin Samsung announced their Samsung Galaxy Note 3 which is the third iteration of their Galaxy Note series while Sony had announced the Xperia Z Ultra, their first phablet sometime in July. Sony Xperia Z Ultra was the first smartphone to feature a Snapdragon 800 SoC and now the LTE variant of Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has the Snapdragon 800 version. The international version, which we get in India, comes with Samsung’s Exynos Octa core chipset. Lets check out how these devices perform.
