Sony announced the Sony Xperia Z1 f (SO-02F), a variant of the Xperia Z1 in Japan for NTT Docomo in their Winter 2013 range. Now press image of Sony Xperia Z1S, a completely new device has appeared, thanks to evleaks. The leaked press image is completely different from the Z1 f, but the size of the phone is similar. Looks like Sony is planning for a Z1 mini with a different design for global users.
We don’t have the specifications of the Z1S yet. The Sony Xperia Z1 f has a 4.3-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) Triluminos Display with with X-Reality engine. Other specifications are similar to the Z1 including a 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean), 20.7-megapixel rear camera with Sony G lens and a 2-megapixel HD front-facing camera. The Xperia Z1 f is expected to be available from NTT Docomo in late December 2013.
The Xperia Z1S might also be just a T-Mobile US variant. It is rumored to launch within 2013. Looks like we have to wait for more details regarding this mysterious Sony smartphone.
