We got our first glimpse of the Sony Xperia Z2 a few months back at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Set against competition from the Samsung Galaxy S5, the Z2 felt like the antithesis of the Korean flagship. Where Samsung was hell bent on throwing everything at the wall in the hopes of attracting consumer attention, Sony’s flagship felt like a device where the thought was on making improvements all around. Improvements that made sense and improved the experience. Now that we’ve spent more time with the device, we’re all the more sure that Sony thought long and hard when working on the Z2. Sony launched the Sony CP-V3, a 2800 mAh portable charger in India last year. Today, it has launched the CP-V3A, an upgraded version of the portable charger with a capacity of 3000 mAh. Other features are similar to the CP-V3, including high output of 1.5A for a fast recharge. The CP-V3 was released in five colors, this comes in six colors. Sony unveiled the Sony Xperia Z1 f (SO-02F) for NTT Docomo in the Winter 2013 range, ahead of its international variant, Z1 Compact last year. Today Sony has announced the Xperia A2 (SO-04F), a slightly enhanced variant of the Xperia Z1f and the successor of the Xperia A (SO-04E) in their 2014 Summer lineup. It has the same 4.3-inch (1280 x 720pixels) Triluminos Display with with X-Reality engine, powered by 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor that we had seen on the Z1 Compact, but this runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) out of the box. Sony had announced the XPERIA Z2 back in February at MWC 2014 in Barcelona, Spain along with Samsung’s Galaxy S5. However due to certain production issues, the phone’s availability has been very scarce. It’s available in Singapore currently and it’s availability has been announced around Europe as well. Sony is offering Xperia Z2 users with a bunch of goodies ranging from music to games. Xperia Z2 smartphone users will get six free movies, 30-day trial of the Music Unlimited service, 8 games from PlayStation Mobile and a free download of the upcoming Michael Jackson album, XSCAPE.

Sony Xperia E1 dual gets a price cut, now available for Rs. 8054

Sony launched the Xperia E1 dual along with the Xperia E1 in India last month at a price tag of Rs. 10,490. It went on sale at Rs. 9,999 and got a price cut to Rs. 9,490 few weeks back. Now the phone has received another price cut and is available for as low as Rs. 8,054 in India online. The E1 dual has a 4-inch (480 x 800 pixels) touch screen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core Snapdragon 200 processor and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). Sony launches Background Defocus app on Google Play

Sony has launched its Background Defocus app in Google Play Store which can be downloaded for free by all Xperia smartphone users. Compatible on devices running on Android 4.2 and higher, the app enables users to take photo and add a background blur.

Sony Xperia E1 Dual Review: a loud whimper for your buck

Sony has been making a comeback of sorts. A couple of years back, they were struggling to match the competition in price and were never on par in specifications but things started to change last year, when the company rebooted the brand and design with fresh new phones, like the recent and much loved Xperia Z1 Compact. While it has amplified at the higher end with flagships like the Z2, the effect has now reached the lower end spectrum of the market. The Xperia E1 Dual is Sony’s latest jab at the entry level smartphone which replaces the good old Tipo Dual. Priced at less than 10,000 rupees, this Sony smartphone aims to satisfy the needs of a market that always wants more for less. Sony Mobile has launched the Xperia M2 Dual, the successor of last year Xperia M. It was announced at the MWC 2014 and packs a 4.8-inch (960 x 540 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). It has a a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. It also comes with dual SIM support and has NFC. Sony plans to deliver Android 4.4 KitKat update for Sony Xperia Z lineup in May 2014

Sony has a lot of phones and a few tablets in its Sony Xperia Z lineup which started way back during CES 2013 with the Sony Xperia Z. Sony had announced that it would be updating the list of the phones in the Xperia Z lineup to Android 4.4 KitKat during Q2 and now, there is information that the updates are well on their way and will likely be coming during May 2014.

Sony releases Xperia Keyboard on Google Play

Sony Mobile has released their official Xperia Keyboard on Google Play Store. Google released their stock Google Keyboard on Google Play last year, but it is still not available globally. The Xperia Keyboard is available widely, but it is limited only to Xperia devices running on Android 4.4 (KitKat), says Xperiablog.net. The version of the Xperia Keyboard on Google Play is 6.4.A.0.6, compared to 6.3.A.0.18 available on other Xperia devices running on KitKat.
