Sony has launched the Xperia Z3 Compact along with the Xperia Z3 in India. It was unveiled earlier this month at the IFA and packs a 4.6-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) Triluminos Display with X-Reality engine, slightly larger than the Z1 Compact, powered by slightly faster 2.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor and runs on Android 4.4.4 (KitKat) out of the box. It has the same 20.7-megapixel rear camera with Sony G lens, 4K video recording and a 2.2-megapixel 1080p front-facing camera, similar to the Xperia Z3. Sony Xperia Z3 launched in India for Rs. 51990

Sony has launched the Xperia Z3, the company’s latest flagship smartphone in India, as expected. It was unveiled at the IFA 2014 earlier this month. Even though the 5.2-inch 1080p display and the 20.7-megapixel rear camera with 1/2.3″ Sony Exmor RS image sensor are similar to the Xperia Z2, the Xperia Z3 has a more brighter screen, powered by a slightly faster Snapdragon 801 SoC and runs on Android 4.4.4 (KitKat) out of the box. Sony Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact launching in India on September 25th

Sony was expected to launch the Xperia Z3 in India last week, but it didn’t happen. Today the company has sent out invites for a launch event in India on September 25th. It is expected to launch both the Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact at the event later this week. The Sony Xperia Z3 is powered by a slightly faster Snapdragon 801 SoC, has a more rounded sides and runs on Android 4.4.4 (KitKat) out of the box, compared to the Xperia Z2. Sony seeks $1.7 billion loss due to sluggish smartphone sales

Sony has predicted a staggering net loss of 230 billion yen ($2.1 billion) for its fiscal year ending next March. That is nearly five times the 50 billion yen loss the company’s previous forecast. The company said it would not pay a dividend this business year after it was hit by a 180 billion yen ($1.7 billion) impairment charge for its struggling smartphone division.

Sony Xperia E3 and E3 Dual launched in India for Rs. 11990 and Rs. 12990

Sony has launched the Xperia E3 and Xperia E3 Dual, the company’s latest smartphones in the E series. Both these smartphones were unveiled at the IFA 2014 earlier this month and come with a 4.5-inch FWVGA touch screen display, 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, Android 4.4 (KitKat), 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera. Sony is all set to launch the Xperia Z3, the company’s latest flagship smartphone in India on September 19th. It was unveiled at the IFA 2014 earlier this month and is currently on pre-order across several countries worldwide. Even though the display and the camera are similar to the Xperia Z2, the Xperia Z3 has a more brighter screen, powered by a slightly faster Snapdragon 801 SoC and runs on Android 4.4.4 (KitKat) out of the box. Sony Xperia Z3 Compact up for pre-order in UK at 349 GBP

Sony Xperia Z3 Compact that was unveiled earlier this month at the IFA 2014. The pricing was revealed as 429 GBP in UK, and online retailer Clove started taking pre-orders for the smartphone 432 GBP including VAT, now it has announced that the price of the Xperia Z3 Compact has been slashed to 349 GBP (US$ 560 or Rs. 34,460 approx) including VAT and 290.83 GBP (US$ 470 or Rs. 28,710 approx) excluding VAT. It would go on sale later this month. However, the official Sony Mobile store in UK is still taking pre-orders from the smartphone at 429 GBP. Sony Xperia L, M, C and SP not getting Android KitKat update

Sony has announced that its will not add further Android updates to Xperia L, M, C and SP.  That means that for those of you who own these smartphones, an Android update will not be issued.

Sony starts rolling out Android 4.4.4 update for Xperia Z, ZL, ZR and Tablet Z

Sony has announced that it has started rolling out Android 4.4.4 (KitKat) update for last year’s Xperia Z lineup that includes, Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR and the Xperia Tablet Z. It rolled out Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) update for these devices back in May. Sony unveiled the ILCE-QX1, its first Interchangeable lens style camera at the IFA earlier this week. The camera supports a range of E-mount lenses and even has a Built-in flash (GN4 in meters at ISO 100) for better low-light photography.
