Earlier this month Samsung accidentally confirmed the Galaxy Tab 4 series in three variants, 10.1, 8.0 and 7.0. Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 (SM-T530) and Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 (SM-T330) already clear FCC. Recently the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 (SM-T535), the LTE variant of the tablet has passed through FCC, that confirms LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, GSM, W-CDMA and Bluetooth connectivity. Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini Value Edition launched in Netherlands

Samsung  announced the Galaxy S3 mini, back in October 2012. The Galaxy S3 mini did not launch in India through, but the company has launched a variant of the smartphone, the Galaxy S3 mini Value edition in Netherlands and Italy. Only the processor has been upgraded, and the phone runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) out of the box. Other features are similar, including a 4.0-inch (480×800 pixels ) Super AMOLED display, 5 Megapixel Auto Focus Camera with LED Flash, 720p video recording and a VGA front-facing camera. Samsung launches Milk Music ad-free radio service for select Galaxy smartphones in the US

Samsung Chromebook 2 series with Exynos 5 Octa Processors announced

Samsung has announced its Chromebook 2 series that includes a 11.6-inch and 13.3-inch models. The 11.6-inch Samsung Chromebook 2 has a 11.6-inch (1366 x 768 pixels) display and the 13.3-inch model has a 13.3-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) full HD display with 250 nits brightness. Both these Chromebooks are powered by a Samsung Exynos 5 Octa processors, unlike some Chromebooks that are powered by Intel Celeron processors. Samsung Chromebook 2 rumored to be coming with Galaxy Note 3 style faux leather build

At the IFA 2013, Samsung announced its yesteryear flagship – Galaxy Note 3 and it set a trend for things to come. Samsung Galaxy Note 3 came with a faux leather back and it continued on to other Samsung Galaxy devices – Galaxy Round, Galaxy Grand 2. Samsung somehow missed it on their follow up of S-series of flagship devices – Galaxy S5. Despite missing it on the company’s flagship, Samsung seems to continue the faux leather trend, but this time in a Chromebook.

Samsung unveiled the Gear 2 and the Gear 2 Neo at the Mobile World congress in Barcelona earlier this week. We managed to do a hands-on comparison between the two. Even though the Gear 2 has the same 1.63 inch  (320 x 320 pixels) Super AMOLED display, this offers vibrant colors. This one is powered by Tizen OS, so the navigation is much faster than the Android-powered Galaxy Gear. Samsung unveiled the Gear 2 Neo along with the Gear 2 at the MWC 2014. The Gear 2 Neo is a cheaper version of the Gear 2 with plastic build and also lacks the camera. It has a 1.63 inch  (320 x 320 pixels) Super AMOLED display and is powered by Tizen OS. It is 10.0 mm thick, similar to the Gear 2, but weighs 55 grams, about 13 grams lighter than the Gear 2. Samsung unveiled the Gear 2 at the MWC 2014 earlier this week. It is the successor of the first Galaxy Gear, that was introduced at the IFA 2013. Unlike the first Android-based Galaxy Gear, this one runs on Tizen OS, optimized for wearable devices, hence it is much faster in terms of navigation. The Gear 2 has the same 1.63 inch  (320 x 320 pixels) Super AMOLED display that we had seen on the Gear, but the processor has been improved. Samsung introduced the Gear Fit, the company’s first wearable fitness band earlier this week at the MWC 2014. We got to check out the device at the event. Unlike the Gear watch series with a square screen, this has a wide 1.84-inch (432 x 128 pixels) Curved Super AMOLED display. The display is bright and the navigation is a smooth. Just like the Gear watch, this one has a Pedometer, Heart Rate sensor, Accelerometer and Gyro sensors. You can remove the Gear Fit unit easily to change the strap. Check out the hands-on video below. Over 44 million smartphones shipped in 2013 in India – IDC

India’s smartphone market grew 181% year-over-year in 2013, with shipments of 44 million smartphones, compared to 16.2 million units in 2012, according to a recent report from International Data Corporation (IDC). Over 257 million mobile phones were shipped in 2013. The feature phone market grew just 16% YoY in Q4 13 and the overall mobile phone shipments in the quarter stood at just 67.83 million units, that includes 15.06 million smartphones. Samsung Galaxy S5 vs Samsung Galaxy S4: What has changed

The biggest expectation of the MWC 2014 had to be Samsung’s Unpacked 5 event where they were expected to announce the successor of Samsung Galaxy S4 and they did announce itSamsung Galaxy S5. While a lot of people weren’t convinced about the lack of design change from Samsung Galaxy S3 to Samsung Galaxy S4, even more people joined the skeptical lot as Samsung pulled a Samsung out of the hat and introduced the Samsung Galaxy S5 in a design and specs not so different from the predecessor – Galaxy S4.

FoneArena is live from Barcelona and we were there at Samsung’s really packed Unpacked event. After the unveiling, we were able to get a quick hands on with the device and in the short time, we compared it with the Samsung Galaxy S4.
