Samsung officially unveiled the Blue Arctic, Red Aurora, Purple Mirage, Brown Autumn and Pink Twilight color variants of the Galaxy S4 at the Samsung Premier 2013 last month. Now the Pink Twilight and Purple Mirage Samsung Galaxy S4 color variants have been officially launched in Taiwan. Samsung launched the Galaxy S4 initially in Black Mist and White Frost color variants and later announced that it would come in new color variants globally. Samsung rumored to launch 12.2-inch and 10-inch tablets with 2560×1600 displays

Samsung has been mainly targeting the mid-range tablet market and now according to @evleaks, the company plans to launch a couple of high resolution tablets that could mark the company’s direct entry into the high-end tablet market.

Samsung Galaxy Note 510 Review

Samsung has been enabling its tablets with calling functionality ever since the first ever non-Apple tablet released, the company’s own Galaxy Tab. While the original Galaxy Tab didn’t have an ear piece to enable phone-like calling, it did have the support. Tab 2 310, its successor on the other hand had an ear piece to let people use it like a phone. Various other manufacturers then warmed up to this idea and released their own calling tablet much to the critics’ ridicule, but a market was definitely there. On that note, Samsung launched the Note 8.0 at the Mobile World Congress this year, and introduced a WiFi as well as a cellular version with calling.

We had reviewed the WiFi version earlier and now we are going to see how the cellular version is different and what its extra features are. Is the calling version really that useful on a 8 inch tablet? Lets find out.

Note: The Galaxy Note 510 is the cellular version of the Note 8.0, literally everything except the below discussed text is same. Do read the complete review of the Galaxy Note 8.0 WiFi version here before proceeding to the review.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition Unboxing

I was in New York city recently for an event and managed to get hold of the recently launched Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition for unboxing as I’m a huge fan of devices running stock Android and the Galaxy S4 has some great internals and a full HD Super AMOLED display. Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top on Android does offer some useful features but it does come at a cost in terms of free space on the device and

Samsung reports record profit of $8.5 billion in Q2 2013 with 9% increase in mobile revenue

Samsung just reported its Q2 earnings for 2013. The South Korea-based company managed to rack up an operating profit of 9.53 trillion won (~US$8.5 billion), which is the highest Samsung has ever posted in a single quarter and a 9-percent increase compared to last Quarter. It has reported net profit of 7.77 trillion won (~US$6.96 billion) and revenues of 57.46 trillion won (~US$51 billion). Mobile phone sales accounted for 34.58  trillion won (~US$31.1 billion), which is 9-percent increase compared to last quarter. Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 Review

Ever since the original Galaxy Note, Samsung has continuously shocked us with screen sizes on their smartphones. Predictably, that has continued with the Galaxy Mega 5.8 and its bigger brother, the Mega 6.3 with the world’s biggest screen, on a smartphone that is. We initially thought it was ridiculous that Huawei launched a 6.1 inch device at CES, but Samsung has one-upped them, actually 0.2-upped them with a more monstrous 6.3 inch screen. After a good amount of ridicule and plenty of surprises, we have finally tested this Smartphone-Tablet hybrid in whole and here are our complete thoughts on the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3. Samsung begins mass production of 3GB LPDDR3 RAM for mobile devices

Samsung Electronics has announced that they have started mass production of 3 gigabyte (GB) low power double data rate 3 (LPDDR3) mobile DRAM, for next-generation smartphones. This is industry’s first high-capacity RAM since most of the high-end smartphones use 2GB of RAM. The Samsung 3GB LPDDR3 mobile DRAM uses six 20-nanometer (nm) class 4 gigabit (Gb) LPDDR3 chips. Samsung Exynos 5420 Octa with ARM Mail T628 GPU announced

Samsung has unveiled an upgraded Exynos 5420 Octa chip as they announced last week. The new Exynos Chip is faster that the previous 5410 chip that was announced at the CES 2013 earlier this year. The Exynos 5420 Octa chip has fours Cortex A15 chips clocked at 1.8 GHz and four Cortex A7 chips running at 1.3 GHz in a big.LITTLE processing implementation. The first Exynos 5410 Octa chip used in the global variant of the Samsung Galaxy S4 is also based on Samsung’s ARM big.LITTLE architecture with four Cortex A15 chips clocked at 1.6 GHz and four Cortex A7 chips running at 1.2 GHz. Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom up for pre-order on official eStore for Rs. 29390

Samsung launched the Galaxy S4 Zoom (SM-C1010) along with the Galaxy S4 mini (GT-I9192) in India earlier this month. The S4 mini went on pre-order from the official Samsung India eStore last week. Now the Galaxy S4 Zoom is now available for pre-order. It has a 16-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor with 10x optical zoom, Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS) and Xenon Flash, 4.3 inch (960 x 540 pixels) qHD Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, 1.5 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). With the announcement of the next version of Galaxy Note getting closer and closer, rumors continue to spread across the Internet. In the latest turn of events, Samsung has teased an updated Exynos 5 Octa SoC through their Twitter account. This updated Exynos 5 Octa is expected to feature in one of the variants of the Galaxy Note 3. The image posted by Samsung suggests an evolved SoC from the previous generation. According to the image, the already powerful Exynos 5 Octa is getting even more powerful and enhanced.

Samsung launched the Galaxy Mega 6.3 (GT-I9200), the company’s first smartphone with a 6.3-inch display back in May in India. It went on sale in India last month. We brought you the unboxing of the Mega 6.3 earlier this week. Here we have the benchmarks of the device. The Galaxy Mega 6.3 is the first smartphone to launch in India with a dual-core Snapdragon 400 MSM8930 chip clocked at 1.7 GHz. It is based on Krait 300 architecture and 28nm process. It has Adreno 305 GPU . Let’s find out how the phone fairs up in benchmarks when compared to other devices.

Samsung has launched the Galaxy Tab 3 310 (SM-T310) and the Galaxy Tab 3 311 (SM-T311), 2 new tablets in India at an event in Delhi. It was announced last month as Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 and packs a 8-inch (1280×800) IPS LCD capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.5GHz dual core processor  and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) with Samsung’s own TouchWiz UI on top. It has a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. Unlike the Galaxy Note 510, this doesn’t come with stylus support. The Tab 3 310 is the WiFi-only variant and the Tab 3 311 comes with 3G support via SIM card slot and voice calling capabilities. It was announced back in April as the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 and packs a 7-inch (1024×600) TFT LCD display, powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 3-megapixel fixed focus rear-facing camera and 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. It also comes with 3G support via SIM card slot and voice calling capabilities similar to the Galaxy Tab 2.
