Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 Benchmarks

Samsung launched the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 tablet in India at Rs. 37,800 along with the Tab S 10.5. This version is powered by 1.9 GHz Exynos 5420 Octa ( A15 1.9 GHz ＋ A7 1.3 GHz) processor with ARM Mail T628 GPU. It has a 8.4-inch (2560×1600 pixel) WQXGA 16:10 Super AMOLED display and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has 3GB RAM and comes with and voice calling capabilities via SIM card slot. Let’s find out how it performs in a range of synthetic benchmark tests. Samsung Galaxy F aka Galaxy Alpha with metal build to release in August?

We’ve all heard about this device, the one that’s touted as the best looking Samsung phone ever. Not that the Korean maker has done much to change how it looks, but they’re definitely said to have changed what it is made out of. Almost all leaks around the Samsung Galaxy F have hinted at a metal build, something Samsung isn’t really known for.

Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 Android 4.4 KitKat update now rolling out in India

Samsung has started rolling out the Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) update for the Galaxy Grand 2 (SM-G7102) in India. It was launched earlier this year running Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 got the KitKat update in January,  Galaxy S4 got it in February and the Galaxy Note 2 got the update back in May in India.

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Core 2 (SM-G355H), its latest mid-range smartphone and the successor of Galaxy Core recently. Manish Khatri from Mahesh Telecom reports that the phone would be priced at Rs. 11,599 (MOP) and the MRP would be Rs. 13,390. It packs a 4.5-inch (800 x 480 Pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with Samsung TouchWiz Essence UI. Samsung Galaxy Ace NXT now on sale in India for Rs. 7399

We talked about an upcoming Samsung phone, the Galaxy NXT, a couple of days back, and the device has apparently gone on sale in the country already. Thanks to a benchmark listing, we got some insight into the device’s specs sheet that shouted entry-level. However, Mahesh Telecom from Mumbai is claiming to have the device in stock already, and has also posted a picture as proof (see below).

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 might come with retina scanner

Samsung is planning to include retina scanner on Galaxy Note 4. A tweet sent from Samsung Samsung Exynos Twitter account reads, “Security can be improved using features unique to us. That’s what we envision. What would you use”. Also, this tweet is supported by an image of a smartphone with an eye on it.

Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy Ace NXT (SM-G313H), an entry-level smartphone in the Galaxy series in India soon. Manish Khatri from Mahesh Telecom reports that the phone would be priced at Rs. 7,399 (MOP) and the MRP would be Rs. 8,550. Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Young 2 (SM-G130H) and Galaxy Star 2 (SM-G130E), entry level smartphones with 3.5-inch HVGA displays, single-core processor and Android 4.4 (KitKat). Google removes multiple Google Play Edition devices from Play Store

Google has taken down multiple Google Play Edition devices from the Play Store. Devices like Sony Xperia Z Ultra, LG G Pad 8.3 and HTC One (M7) were taken down from the device section of the Play Store. These handsets along with Samsung Galaxy S4 were out of inventory for some time before they were officially taken down today.

Samsung Gear VR virtual reality headset to reportedly launch at IFA 2014

News reports about Samsung working on virtual reality headsets surfaced online in May this year. Now, SamMobile has revealed that the Korean electronic giant is calling it as the Gear VR and it will debut at the IFA 2014. The report has posted an image of the Gear VR  that will reportedly debuted alongside the Galaxy Note 4 at the event. As reported earlier Facebook’s Oculus Rift will collaborate with Samsung for the software of the device.
