Samsung has launched the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 Broadband LTE-A in Korea. It the same 10.5-inch Super AMOLED display at WQXGA resolution, powered by a Octa-Core Exynos (A15 1.9 GHz + A7 1.3 GHz) processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat), but this supports Category 6 LTE Advanced support that would offer download speed of up to 225 Mbps, faster than the Cat.4 LTE that supports download speed only up to 150Mbps. Samsung is claiming that Microsoft has violated the deal between the two after it completed the Nokia acquisition earlier this year, as per the latest report from Reuters. The South Korean electronic giant is hence defending its action of not paying the royalties to Microsoft as the Nokia deal makes the software giant a direct hardware competitor.

Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A3 smartphones in its new A Series, after several rumors.Both these smartphones have full metal unibody, slim designs. These are Samsung’s slimmest smartphone to date. The Galaxy A5 is just 6.7mm thick and the Galaxy A3 is 6.9mm thick. These are aimed at young and trend conscious consumers, says the company. Samsung has reported its earnings for Q3 2014, in which the company has managed to make operating profit of 4.06 trillion won ($3.9 billion) for the quarter ended September 30, 2014, down from 10.16 trillion won compared to the same quarter last year. It has reported net profit of 4.22 trillion won ($4 billion) on revenues of 47.45trillion won ($45 billion), down 9% compared to the same quarter last year. Samsung has launched the Galaxy Note Edge, the company’s first smartphone with a curved edge screen in their homeground Korea. It was announced at IFA last month and packs a 5.6-inch (1440 x 2560 pixels) QHD Super AMOLED display that is curved on the right side that utilizes 160 pixels and gives you access to frequently used apps, alerts and device functionality even when the cover is closed. The Korean variant is powered by a Octa-Core Exynos (1.9GHz Cortex A15 + 1.3GHz Cortex A7) processor.
