We had told you that Samsung is working on a round smartwatch and that it is roping in artists and fashion brands to help develop accessories for it. The smartwatch that is supposedly called the Gear A was sheduled for an announcement in the near future. But it has now apparently been delayed and is expected to be announced later this year during IFA 2015.

The smartwatch is expected to be announced alongside the Galaxy Note 5 at the even which is scheduled to take place between September 4th to 9th. The watch is codenamed Orbis and will have a rotating bezel that will help users to scroll through lists, zoom in/out of images etc.

The main reason for the delay is apparently so that Samsung can settle on a proper timetable with the product launches and also to allow the hype surrounding the Apple watch to settle down a bit. It also gives time for Samsung to build a worthy competitor to the Apple Watch which is gaining quite a bit of praise from customers and reviewers alike.

The delay hasn’t been confirmed as such and is more of a rumor. But we still expect it to be launched alongside the Note 5 as Samsung usually announce their smartwatches along with smartphones as it makes a better offering that way.
