Samsung has reported its earnings for Q2 2015, in which the company has managed to make operating profit of 6.90 trillion ($5.93 billion) for the quarter ended June 30, 2015, down 4% from 7.19 trillion won compared to the same quarter last year. It has reported net profit of 5.75 trillion won ($4.93 billion), down 8% YoY, on revenues of 48.54 trillion won, up 3% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ). Samsung has already sent out invites for an Unpacked event on August 13th where it will announce the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. Now, the Wall Street Journal says that the company may also unveil the Gear A smartwatch along the two phones at the same event.

Samsung has finally sent out press invites for its Galaxy Unpacked event on August 13th in New York. Samsung usually unveils its flagship Galaxy Note smartphones during IFA, but this time the company has decided to introduce it earlier, as rumored to compete with Apple’s iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus that are expected in September. It looks like Samsung is continuing its regular trait and working on a mini version of its flagship Galaxy S6. Alleged photos of the Galaxy S6 Mini have surfaced in a new leak.
The debate over what sort of release mechanism the Samsung Galaxy Note 5’s S Pen will have still isn’t over. The first rumours stated that it will have a gesture based auto-eject mechanism and later it was believed to have a push to eject mechanism. However, now it appears that the phone will have a typical removal mechanism like past generations.

Up until now, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 5 was said to sport 4GB of RAM while the S6 Edge + was said to have 3GB of RAM just like the S6 Edge. It was also rumored to be packing a Snapdragon 808 processor. However a new rumour stated that the device actually might have a different processor and will pack 4GB of RAM.

According to several sources, the Galaxy Note 5 from Samsung has been rumoured to not feature a microSD card slot as it is expected to feature a design quite similar to the S6/S6 Edge. However, a newly leaked UA Profile for the Sprint variant of the Note 5 suggests otherwise.
Worldwide smartphone shipments grew 1.9% over the previous quarter to 304M units in the second quarter of 2015, as per a latest report from research firm TrendForce.
