Qualcomm today introduced its Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Mobile Platform that promises 10% improvements in CPU and GPU performance and 30% improvements in power efficiency. It also confirmed that several OEMs including ASUS ROG, Black Shark, HONOR, iQOO, Lenovo, Motorola, Nubia, OnePlus, OPPO, OSOM, realme, RedMagic, Redmi, vivo, Xiaomi, and ZTE. Qualcomm Wireless AR Smart Viewer reference design announced

Along with the new Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 and Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, Qualcomm has also introduced a new Wireless AR Smart Viewer Reference Design that OEMs could adapt into commercial headsets at the  Snapdragon Night event in China. Qualcomm just announced the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, the company’s latest mid-range 7 series Mobile Platform, as the successor to the Snapdragon 778 / 778G+, as it had promised. This offers select Snapdragon Elite Gaming features including Qualcomm Adreno Frame Motion Engine, Qualcomm Game Quick Touch, Variable Rate Shading and  more than 20% faster graphics rendering compared to the predecessor. AMD and Qualcomm to optimize FastConnect for Ryzen processors

Qualcomm and AMD have signed a partnership to contribute to the optimization of Qualcomm’s FastConnect system on AMD Ryzen processor-based computing platforms. With FastConnect’s platform, the two companies want to give IT administrators Wi-Fi management tools through AMD PRO processors, which are part of the company’s corporate technology portfolio. Qualcomm unveils Robotics RB6 Platform with 5G

With the unveiling of the Qualcomm Robotics RB6 Platform and the Qualcomm RB5 AMR Reference Design at the annual Qualcomm 5G Summit, the company also announced an expanded pathway of cutting-edge 5G as well as edge-AI robotics solutions. Qualcomm Snapdragon X70 gets Smart Transmit 3.0

Qualcomm at the Qualcomm 5G Summit today announced new capabilities and milestones for the Snapdragon X70 5G Modem-RF System after it was announced at the MWC a couple of months back. The company’s fifth-generation 5G modem-to-antenna solution uses world’s first 5G AI processor in a modem-RF system to achieve 10 Gigabit 5G downloads, low latency, coverage, and power efficiency.

Qualcomm’s custom Nuvia processors for Windows PCs now expected in late 2023

Qualcomm purchased Nuvia in July 2021, which is a company that used to specialize CPU and technology design. At the Investor Day 2021 in November, the company said that it will start building its own chips for laptops in 2022. Today, during its earnings call, Qualcomm’s President and CEO Cristiano Amon confirmed that the company is still working on its own chips. Qualcomm partners with Square Enix for Snapdragon Spaces

Qualcomm has announced a partnership with game developer Square Enix, where the two companies will work on new extended reality (XR) experiences through the Snapdragon Spaces XR Developer Platform. Along with this, Qualcomm also announced a $100 million “Snapdragon Metaverse Fund” to help companies and developers build the foundation of Qualcomm’s metaverse.

Qualcomm partners ESL to launch Snapdragon Pro Series esports ecosystem

Qualcomm has announced a new partnership with ESL Gaming to launch a global mobile esports ecosystem called the Snapdragon Pro Series. It will consist of a global, multi-genre mobile esports competition and will culminate in a live masters final tournament with prize pool of nearly $2 million.
