BlackBerry 10 L-Series phone surfaces in a new Video demo

A new video of the BlackBerry 10 L-Series phone has surfaced in a video demo on a Spanish site. The device in this video doesn’t look like a BlackBerry Dev Alpha A or B, but the device runs on BlackBerry OS 10. The guy in the video demos the features of the BlackBerry 10 including the BlackBerry Hub, new multitasking UI, Keyboard and the new camera. Samsung Galaxy S3 mini with 4-inch Super AMOLED display, 1 GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.1 announced

Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy S3 mini that surfaced yesterday. It has a 4.0-inch (480×800 pixels ) Super AMOLED display  and is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5 Megapixel Auto Focus Camera with LED Flash, 720p video recording at the back and a VGA front-facing camera. The design of the phone and some of the features are similar to the Galaxy S Duos that was announced in August. It also has some of the unique features that were present in the Galaxy S3 including S Voice, Smart Stay, Direct Call, S Beam and Buddy photo share. Samsung acknowledges Exynos documentation issue, working on a fix

Samsung devices are built with one of the most powerful hardware and the Exynos processor manufactured by Samsung themselves is one of them. But from quite sometime now Exynos powered devices are having problems with developers due to the lack of documentation. Samsung has acknowledged this issue and has tweeted to confirm that they are working with the Exynos team to fix this.

HTC One S and Desire V get a price cut in India

HTC has reduced the price of the One S and Desire V, which are now available for Rs. 25,900 and Rs. 16,999 in India. HTC One S was officially launched in India in June, but it got a price cut in August from Rs. 33,590 to Rs. 28,900. The HTC desire V went on sale in India for Rs. 21,999 in June. LG Nexus Phone Pictures Leaked

New set of images of the LG’s next Nexus devices has surfaced on Belarusian site Onliner. Unlike the earlier shots of the LG E960, these images are clear hands-on shots. HTC Desire X now available in India for Rs. 19799


HTC Desire X is now available in India from online retailer Snapdeal. HTC announced the Desire X in August and it comes with a 4.0-inch (800 X 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display and is powered by 1 GHz Dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) with HTC Sense 4.0 UI and has a 5MP auto focus camera at the back with LED Flash. HTC opens its first ‘concept store’ in Delhi

HTC yesterday opened its first concept store in South Extension, New Delhi in India to show off its top of the line handsets. The store places an emphasis on HTC’s audio and imaging capabilities by providing two distinct sections in the store.

Microsoft’s Czech Unit Reportedly Confirms Office for iOS Coming in March 2013

In the past, there have been many rumors about Microsoft releasing Office for iOS. Today, The Verge reports that a Microsoft product manager confirmed that the company is working on versions of Microsoft Office for both iOS and Android, which is expected to be released in March 2013.  The comments were made to Czech site IHNED.cz [Google translation] at a press event in that country.

“In addition to Windows, Office will be also available on other operating systems, Windows Phone, Windows RT, Mac OS, Android, iOS and Symbian,” says Microsoft, while separately noting that there will also be a new version of Office Web Apps too. […]

The press release also mentions that Office 2013 will be made available to businesses in December, with a consumer launch scheduled for the end of February 2013. “Office 365 services and other Office products for mobile (phones and tablets) will be released from March 2013,” says Microsoft.

The Verge also says that it saw a press release from Microsoft’s team in the Czech Republic confirming the launch plans. Back in February, The Daily claimed that it had hands-on time with a working prototype of the software but Microsoft, but the company denied the report.


Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini specifications and image leaked

Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy S3 mini in an event tomorrow in Germany but MobileGeeks have managed to get hold of the specifications and product images before hand. As expected, the S3 Mini is a miniaturized version of the flagship Galaxy S3 with a smaller 4″ screen and unfortunately, much scaled down specs.

Samsung mobile communications head JK Shin has apparently confirmed to the Korean press that the 4-inch version of the Galaxy S III dubbed the Galaxy S III “mini” is all set to launch in Germany on October 11th.

Google Nexus 7 Android 4.1.2 OTA update starts rolling out, brings landscape mode and improvements

Google has started rolling out Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) update for the Nexus 7. The Google Nexus 7 was unveiled in June came with Android 4.1.1 but it lacked landscape mode. The new Android 4.1.2 Over the Air (OTA) update is a minor update which is about 31MB. It brings landscape mode and  improvements in performance, stability and bug fixes. The LG E960 that is rumored to be the next Nexus device was spotted running on the Android 4.1.2. LG India announces winners of Smartphone Idea Camp contest


LG Smartphone Idea Camp contest is over and the winners got away with the prize-worth Rs. 1,000,000 along with LG Smart phones as an additional prize of Rs. 500,000. LG launched the Smartphone Idea Camp contest on August 1st which received registrations from 3700 contestants and ended on 15th September, 2012. Nokia DC-16 Portable Battery Review

As smartphones increase in capabilities and screen sizes, the battery technology is struggling to keep up. Non replaceable batteries in phones have made it even harder to be able to just switch out when the phone dies.

This has led to a range of portable battery accessories by manufacturers like Proporta, Nokia amongst others. Nokia added a new member to its battery line up some time back in the form of the DC-16 charging stick and we decided to give it a spin. Here’s our review.
