Canonical has partnered with Meizu to introduce Meizu PRO 5 Ubuntu Edition, ahead of MWC 2016 next week. “This is the fifth Ubuntu device launched by Canonical and its partners in the last twelve months and the most sophisticated and feature-rich Ubuntu phone in the market,” said Canonical. It has similar specifications as the original Meizu PRO 5 that was introduced last year, but this comes only in 3GB RAM with 32GB storage variant. Micromax becomes third largest smartphone player in Russia: Report

Micromax has grabbed the number three spot in the Russian smartphone market according to the latest research from Counterpoint’s Market Monitor program. The homegrown smartphone handset maker has a market share of over 9% in Q4 2015.

LG G5 live image shows magic slot module, could be a projector

Few days before the official launch, several details about the upcoming flagship, LG G5 have surfaced. Back in December details about a “magic slot” on the device surfaced so that it could enable some functional expansion using modules. Xiaomi Mi Band (White LED) goes on open sale in India, available for Rs. 799

Xiaomi launched its Mi Band in India back in April last year for Rs. 999, later in November it launched the White LED edition with only White LED light, compared to multicolored LED lights in the original version for Rs. 799. Xiaomi has announced that starting from today, the Mi band White LED edition will be available through open sale, without registrations. Apple exits iPhone 4s and 5c from India

Apple has withdrawn iPhone 4s and 5c smartphones from India, as per a report from the Economic Times. The move comes from the company as it bows out of the sub Rs. 20,000 smartphone segment in the country to bolster its falling average selling price (ASP).
