In the wake of recent ransomware attacks, India is asking Microsoft to offer a one-time discount to the more than 50 million Windows users in the country, according to a latest report from Reuters. India wants the discount so users can upgrade to the latest Windows 10 operating system following recent ransomware attacks.

Microsoft has updated its AI-powered Pix camera app with filters similar to Prisma. The feature was developed in collaboration with Microsoft’s Asia research lab and Skype. Pix Styles, transforms pictures into styles inspired by popular works of art or adds an effect such as making the picture look like it is on fire.

Last month at the Computex 2017 Qualcomm announced that ASUS, HP and Lenovo will be the first OEM to develop mobile PCs powered by the ARM-based Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Mobile PC Platform with X16 LTE modem. Microsoft has signed an agreement to acquire cybersecurity firm Hexadite. The Israeli based company was founded in 2014 and specializes in delivering automatic incident investigation and remediation solutions. In May, Israeli financial news website Calcalist said Microsoft would pay $100 million for Hexadite. Neither of the companies has revealed terms of the deal.

Microsoft just announced its fifth generation Surface Pro 2-in-1 at its Shanghai event, as expected. It is just called the Surface Pro and has the same 12.3-inch (2160×1440 pixels) display with 267 PPI, 8-megapixel camera at the back and a 5-megapixel camera at the front, but this is powered by latest seventh-generation Kaby Lake processors.
