Micromax has launched two new feature phones, Joy X1800 and Joy X1850. The main highlight is that these Joy series of smartphones come in pouch packaging rather than box. This is the first ever pouch packaging phones in the Indian market claims Micromax. Both these smartphone have a 1.77-inch (128 x 160 pixels) QQVGA colored screen, dual SIM support, a rear camera, Bluetooth 3.0, expandable memory up to 4GB, FM Radio, Flashlight and more. Samsung leads smartphone market in India: Counterpoint Report

HomeShop18 has rolled out 9 new smartphones, including a Windows Phone 8.1 smartphone in India. This includes Micromax Win W121 and Canvas A82 smartphones that were already launched. Other new smartphones include, Spice Mi-501, Spice Mi-402, Spice Mi-401, Spice Mi-514, Spice Mi-347, Spice Mi-551 and Celkon A356. It has also released Spice M-6115, which is a feature phone. Priced between Rs. 2199 and Rs. 6999, these phones would be available from HomeShop18 starting 14th January. 10,000 YU YUREKA units to go on sale on Jan 13th, receives over 3 lakh registrations

Micromax’s YU plans to sell 10,000 units of YUREKA smartphones on its first flash sale on January 13th, tomorrow at 2PM on Amazon.in, according to a report from PTI (via ET). The company has received over three lakh registrations for the smartphone, and it had to close the registration a day before the actual date of December 25th due to tremendous response, said Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma to PTI. Micromax’s YU launched the YU YUREKA (AO5510), the first smartphone under YU brand last month for Rs. 8,999. We brought you the hands on, unboxing and the photo gallery recently. Here we have the benchmarks of the smartphone. It is powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 64-bit processor that has four ARM Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.54 GHz per core and other four Cortex A53 cores are clocked at 1.0 GHz per core. It has Adreno 405 GPU clocked at 550 MHz. It has 2GB DDR3 RAM, 5.5-inch HD screen and runs on Cyanogen OS 11 based on Android 4.4.4 (KitKat). Check out the synthetic benchmark scores below.
