It has a 4-inch WVGA screen, is powered by a 1GHz processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a 03-megapixel VGA rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera. It has 3G connectivity and dual SIM support. It also becomes one of the cheapest smartphones with 4-inch display, Android Kitkat, 512MB RAM and 3G support. SoftBank eyeing 20% stake in Micromax for almost $1 billion

SoftBank is currently looking forward to acquire a 20% stake in Micromax, according to a report from Reuters. A group of investors led by Japanese telecom giant will make an investment of $1 billion in the  Indian mobile manufacturer Micromax.

Micromax acquires minority stake in analytics firm

Micromax has as invested in in a local analytics company, as per a latest report from The Economic Times. The report said that the homegrown smartphone maker is planning to invest in a Silicon Valley-based startup that operates in the online price comparison space.

Micromax appoints Shubhajit Sen as CMO

Micromax has announced that it has appointed Shubhajit Sen as its Chief Marketing Officer. He will replace Shubhodip Pal who was the company’s CMO since December 2012. Shubhajit Sen previously served as Executive Vice President – Marketing of Glaxo Smith Kline Consumer Health Limited for 21 years. He is an Economics graduate from SRCC, Delhi University and an MBA from IIM-Ahmedabad. He will focus on leading all marketing efforts for the company across markets while strengthening the overall brand communication, said Micromax.
