Among the plethora of home appliances and tech gadgets that are announced and ready to be shown off at the CES 2014 in the coming days, there are rumors circulating that Huawei will announce a Windows Phone device in Las Vegas during CES 2014. This information falls nicely in place after Huawei announced their commitment towards the Windows Phone platform in September and they seem to be undisturbed by the fact that Microsoft now owns Nokia which holds more than 90% of the WP market share.

More Huawei Ascend Mate 2 images leak, likely to feature the same 6.1-inch 720p screen

Last week images of the Huawei Ascend Mate 2 surfaced, but the display resolution was not confirmed. Now Engadget Chinese reports that the Ascend Mate 2 would have the same 6.1-inch 720p screen present on the Ascend Mate, but this would use a faster 1.6 GHz processor and run on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) with Emotion UI on top. More images of the phone confirms the 13-megapixel rear camera through the camera UI on the phone. The images show shiny back with patterns and chrome finish on the sides. Huawei launched the Ascend Mate in India back in June, which was one of the best mid-range large-screen smartphones at that time. Now, images of the Ascend Mate 2 has surfaced on weibo from the popular C Technology. According to the images, the Black phone is the Ascend Mate and the White one is the Ascend Mate 2. According to the leaked image, the Ascend Mate 2 has a narrow frame with a smaller bezel. It is also likely to come with brushed metal frame, but this might just have a plastic build that looks like Metal, says the user. Now the company’s president has revealed on Weibo that it is planning to release the Ascend P6S with an Octa-Core K3V2+ processor. Huawei has finally announced the Ascend W2, the company’s latest smartphone running on Windows Phone 8 after several rumors. It is the successor of the Ascend W1 that was announced at the CES 2013 earlier this year, and packs a 4.3-inch (800 x 480 pixels) WVGA super-sensitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.4 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8230 processor. It has a 5 MP auto focus rear camera with 720p HD video recording. The phone has capacitive touch buttons with backlight similar to the color of the phone. Huawei has set a target of selling 60 million smartphones worldwide, this year. The ICT solutions giant has spent only two years in the smartphone business, yet earned itself the title of ‘fourth largest smartphone maker in the world’, beating Nokia & Blackberry, earlier this year. India, being an important market for any growing mobile manufacturer has seen few and delayed handset launches by Huawei. However, the Chinese company hopes to change that trend, soon. “We are not a well-known brand in India, yes that is true and we acknowledge we have work to do”, affirmed Scott Sykes, Head of International Media Affairs, Huawei to FoneArena, in an interview in Shenzhen, earlier this year.

It packs a packs a 4.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) display based on in-cell LCD screen technology with responsive touch that works even when wearing gloves, powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) with new Emotion UI. It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with BSI sensor, F2.0 aperture and 4cm macro and 1080P full HD video recording and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Huawei Ascend P6 Benchmarks

Huawei Ascend P6, the company’s latest flagship smartphone went on sale in India earlier this week. We brought you the unboxing of the device earlier today. Here we have the benchmarks of the device. The Ascend P6 has a 4.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) display based on in-cell LCD screen technology and is powered by a the Huawei’s own K3v2 processor developed by HiSilicon Technologies from Huawei. It has four 4 ARM Cortex A9 cores based on ARMv7 architecture. The chip is based on 40nm technology. It has a 16-core Vivante GC4000 GPU. Nearly four months after its global launch, Huawei has finally brought the Ascend P6 to India. The Android smartphone is priced at Rs. 25,750. What makes this phone stand out in the massive Android market, is its absolute slim design. Aesthetics compliment the extremely light body that weighs mere 120 gms. It is one of the biggest launches by Huawei in 2013 and is expected to get a successor only next year !
