Two HTC senior executives leaving the company

Even though HTC reported profits of US$ 81 million after losses, it is still seeing tough times ahead with difficult smartphone sales and declining revenues. Now, two more top executives of the company are resigning from the company at a crucial time. The news comes after the company’s head of the design Scott Croyle announced his departure in April.

HTC has launched the Desire 616 dual SIM in India along with the One E8. It was announced earlier this month and packs a 5-inch (1280 x 720  pixels) HD IPS display, powered by a 1.4 GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6592 processor with Mali 450-MP4 GPU and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) with HTC Sense 5.1 UI on top. HTC One E8 launched in India for Rs. 34900

HTC has launched the One E8 dual SIM, the company’s latest smartphone in the HTC One series in India. It was unveiled last month and has a 5.0-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display with Corning Gorilla glass protection, powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a polycarbonate body instead of brushed aluminium finish on the One M8. Google removes multiple Google Play Edition devices from Play Store

Google has taken down multiple Google Play Edition devices from the Play Store. Devices like Sony Xperia Z Ultra, LG G Pad 8.3 and HTC One (M7) were taken down from the device section of the Play Store. These handsets along with Samsung Galaxy S4 were out of inventory for some time before they were officially taken down today.

HTC posts unaudited 2Q14 profits of 81 million USD after a couple of loss quarters

HTC seems to be back after several slumps in its revenues and profits, as the Taiwanese manufacturer has posted its unaudited results for the fiscal second quarter of 2014, on its investors website. The second quarter saw the release of its latest flagship device, the HTC One M8, which is possibly doing quite well for the company. The device, armed with the same popular design as its predecessor, added a second camera module on its back to tout interesting software based effects as one of its USPs. Couple that with top end specifications and a premium build, the company might have with them, a winner, at least financially.

HTC Volantis tablet rumored to feature 8.9″ 2560 x 1600 display and 5GB RAM

Last month’s rumors about the HTC Volantis claimed that it would be Google’s next Nexus tablet. Now @evleaks has revealed details about the tablet and has also posted a macro shot of the tablet. According to @evelaks the earlier leaks that showed the render or concept of the tablet is fake. The tablet is expected to be powered by a 64-bit Tegra K1 SoC and would have aluminum unibody design, that coincides with the earlier leak. HTC has announced the HTC One (M8) dual SIM, the dual SIM variant of the HTC One (M8) that was unveiled earlier this year. HTC software update roadmap surfaces

HTC One series got Android 4.4 (KitKat) update with Sense 5.5 earlier this year. The HTC One, its dual SIM variant and the HTC One Max got the Sense 6 update few weeks back. Recently HTC ROM developer @LlabTooFeR posted the roadmap of future Android updates for HTC smartphones. HTC Volantis with 8.9″ display, Tegra K1 processor leaked as upcoming Nexus tablet

HTC hasn’t been entirely secretive about their plans to launch a new tablet later this year and the latest rumors seem to corroborate those whispers. It is believed that the company might have been tasked with the production of Google’s next Nexus tablet. HTC had been responsible for making the first Nexus handset ie the G1.

Initially known as the Nexus 8 and believed to be codenamed the Flounder, latest news indicated that the handset will be called the HTC Volantis. The tablet will pack a 8.9″ display with a resolution of 2048×1440 pixels. This resolution suggests that the tablet will approach a 4:3 aspect ratio. This would be the same as seen on Apple’s iPad series of tablets and has proven to be more conducive for reading. HTC Sense TV app updated with program guide for India

HTC Sense TV India program guide

HTC has updated its HTC Sense TV app that finally brings support for Indian TV program listings. This let you add a TV service provider from the settings to view the current or upcoming TV listing and detailed program guide easily. This feature is currently in beta so the program guide might not be perfect. This app uses the phone’s Infrared sensor to control TV, set-top box or a home theater system easily.
