HTC unveiled the J Butterfly (HTL23), the company’s latest smartphone with waterproof body few weeks back in Japan. Now the HTC Butterfly 2 for Asia Pacific markets has been leaked by @Upleaks. This was first leaked by @evleaks back in May and looks similar to the new J Butterfly smartphone. It comes with IP57 ratings for dust and water resistance. It looks like HTC is preparing a mid range smartphone as per series of tweets from popular leakster @upleaks. Dubbed as A11, for now the device will be from HTC’s Desire line and is running on a Snapdragon 410 processor. This is the first ever 64-bit SoC from Qualcomm that was unveiled in December of last year. It has a 1.4 GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 CPU, and an Adreno 306 GPU.

HTC has just announced the J Butterfly (HTL23), its new smartphone in the Butterfly series for Japanese carrier KDDI. Most of the specifications of the new J butterfly are similar to One (M8), including a 5-inch 1080p display, quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor and Android 4.4 (KitKat) with Sense UI, but this comes with Water ( IPX5 / IPX7) and dust resistance (IP5X). Yesterday, there were reports stating that HTC will announce its upcoming flagship device the One W8 on August 20th and launch it on August 21st. However, today HTC has sent out press invites for an event on August 19th. It is anticipated that the company will announce a Windows Phone based on the HTC One (M8) design.
HTC is working on a flagship Windows Phone 8.1 handset based on HTC One (M8), according to several reports. Earlier this month @evleaks said the HTC’s W8 Windows Phone handset would feature BoomSound and Duo cameras, similar to the HTC One (M8). According the Engadget’s sources, the device is expected to be called “One (W8) for Windows”. Users of the unlocked HTC One M8 based in Europe are now receiving the Android v4.4.3 update for their devices. This comes only a handful days after US folks got treated to the update.
The update takes the software version to 2.22.401.4, and measures a hefty 613MB. So make sure you’re loaded with either WiFi or a high-speed 3G pack before you head out for the update.

Pink variant of the HTC One M8 that was leaked back in May has gone official in the UK. The Red colored variant of the One M8 would also be coming to the UK. The Red and Blue colored variants went on pre-order in the UK in May, when the Red variant was launched in Taiwan. HTC released the One M8 in Gunmetal Gray, Glacial Silver and Amber Gold colors initially. All these would have similar specifications and brushed metal finish.
