Google Groups beta with modern design, controls and more rolling out to G Suite users

Google is redesigning Groups in G Suite with a new interface and better controls, bringing it in-line with other G Suite tools like Gmail. Google is currently rolling it out in beta to those customers who wish to try and provide feedback for the new experience and worldwide rollout is expected sometime later this year.

Google Search mobile-first indexing to be made default by September

Google ‘Read it’ feature in Assistant can read aloud web pages in 42 different languages

Google announced a pretty neat little feature that is going to make reading web articles on phones a lot easier. The feature, called ‘Read it’, can be used to make the Google Assistant read articles out load that are open on the Chrome browser, Google Search or the News app.

Google to launch its second Cloud Platform region in India in Delhi in 2021

Google launched its first cloud region in India in Mumbai back in 2017 in an aim to improve latency from 20-90% for end users in Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and of course Mumbai. Today the company has announced plans to open a Delhi cloud region next year, expanding Google’s existing network of eight regions in Asia Pacific and 22 regions globally today. Google I/O 2020 cancelled due to coronavirus concerns

Google has cancelled its I/O developers’ conference for this year that was supposed to take place at Mountain View, California from May 12th to 14th due to coronavirus concerns. Google WearOS may focus on health and fitness features in future updates

Google’s WearOS has historically struggled to be a worthy competitor to Apple’s WatchOS  or Samsung’s Tizen OS. After buying FitBit back in November 2019, we expected Google to Health and Fitness functionalities into WearOS eventually. Google is shutting down Google Station Free Wi-Fi program in India and globally

Back in September 2016 Google introduced Google Stations, a new internet access platform as a partnership between Google, Indian Railways and Railtel to bring fast, free public Wi-Fi to over 400 of the busiest railway stations in India by mid-2020.
