Apple announces WWDC 2020 for June in new online format

Apple just announced that its 31st annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) will take place in June in a new online format due to current health situation. Apple’s senior vice president of Software Engineering, Craig Federighi said that the company has created new format that delivers a full program with an online keynote and sessions. Apple iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus get a price hike in India after increase in import duty

As the Indian government re-imposed 10% service welfare cess over and above existing 20% basic customs duty in India, Apple has increased the price of its iPhones, including its iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max smartphones in the country. The government last month increased the import duty on PCBA from 10% to 20%, chargers from 15% to 20% and mobile phone components such as display panel, touch panel, microphone and receiver from 0 to 10%. Apple to open its first retail store in India in 2021, online store this year: Tim Cook

Rumors about Apple’s own retail outlet in India has been surfacing for quite some time now. Yesterday at its annual shareholders meeting at Steve Jobs Theater Apple CEO Tim Cook has confirmed that Apple will open its first retail store in India in 2021. He said that the company had to seek special approval for this because the Indian government wanted it to work with a partner. “We wouldn’t be a very good partner in retail.
