Apple developing up to 32-core Apple Silicon SoCs for high-end Macs: Report

Apple’s foray into the desktop ARM computing world was, for the most part, a success with the launch of the M1 Apple Silicon in the entry level Macs. According to sources from the industry, Apple is definitely not stopping here and is reportedly developing successors to M1 for their high-end machines that will reportedly have up to 32-high performance cores.

Apple said to introduce first Apple Silicon-powered Mac on November 17

Apple introduced new iPads last month, and the new iPhone 12 series earlier this week along with the new HomePod mini. Now Apple leaker Jon Prosser claims that the first Apple Silicon Macs will be announced on November 17th, and the date will be confirmed by Apple on November 10th, a week before the launch. If this is true, this is the first time Apple is holding media events in three consecutive months, all of them virtually. Apple confirms transition from Intel to Apple Silicon for Macs; to start shipping from late 2020

At the WWDC 2020 Apple has confirmed that it is moving from Intel’s processors to its own Apple silicon, as rumored.  The company said that its world-class custom silicon will deliver industry-leading performance and powerful new technologies such as advanced power management for maximized performance and battery life, Secure enclave for the best-in-class security, High-performance GPU for whole new level of graphics performance, Neural Engine and Machine learning accelerators, video, display and image processing engines.
