Apple is reportedly preparing a major change to its Mac silicon roadmap. According to a Bloomberg report by Mark Gurman, the company, currently on its M5 chip family, plans to introduce only the base M6 processor for entry-level Macs while skipping the M6 Pro and M6 Max variants. Apple has released macOS 26.2, introducing Edge Light, a built-in video effect aimed at improving face lighting during video calls in low-light environments. The feature uses the Mac’s display to create a soft fill light around the edges of the screen, similar to a virtual ring light. Apple introduced new iPads last month, and the new iPhone 12 series earlier this week along with the new HomePod mini. Now Apple leaker Jon Prosser claims that the first Apple Silicon Macs will be announced on November 17th, and the date will be confirmed by Apple on November 10th, a week before the launch. If this is true, this is the first time Apple is holding media events in three consecutive months, all of them virtually.
