If you are one amongst consumers who had purchased the iPhone 4S from outside India and were facing issues getting it to work here , good news for you. Many users including me were seeing no signal bars on the iPhone 4S in India. Calls and SMS were not working.Surprisingly 3G data was working fine on most operators including Airtel , Vodafone and BSNL. I had tried using some international SIM cards such as AT&T, T-Mobile , O2 UK, 3 UK, SmarTone (HK). AT&T CEO says ‘Tremendous demand’ for free iPhone 3GS

AT&T noted that it sold a gross of 4.8 million smartphones in the interim of the third quarter, 2.7 million of them being iPhone activations. Highly astounding for a phone, that was released in June, 2009. After the debut of the iPhone 4S, Apple proclaimed that the 3GS was free with an AT&T contract and that the iPhone 4 would plummet to $99 with a contract.

iOS developers noted to make more profit from app sales than Google makes from its mobile business

Adhering to Google’s third-quarter earnings report in the previous week, David Barnard, founder of App Cubby, established an intriguing observation on his company’s blog, Google declared a run rate of $2.5 billion for its cellular ad revenue based on third-quarter earnings, up from $1 billion a year previously.

Kik Messenger Introduces New Symbian, Windows Phone Apps At Nokia World

The cross platform messenger service Kik today launched its Symbian and updated Windows Phone apps at the Nokia World conference in London. The messenger competes with the likes of WhatsApp and is also  available on iOS , Android and Blackberry platforms. With the new Symbian app Kik Messenger users should be able to communicate regardless of platform of choice.

Apple iPhone 4S Singapore Prices Out

Looks like Apple is all set to launch the iPhone 4S in more countries on October 28th. The pre-order pages for the countries part of the Oct 28 launch went up few hours ago. Amongst those countries , the only country in Asia is Singapore where Apple products are normally priced similar to the United States. Here we have news of the Singapore prices of the iPhone 4S. Prices start from 948 SGD for the 16GB version , 1088 SGD for the 32GB version and 1238 SGD for the 64GB version.This works out to about Rs.38000 approx for the 16GB version , Rs.42500 approx for the 32GB version and Rs.48400 approx for the top-end 64GB variant.  you might also have to pay GST or a Sales Tax in addition to the above price.  From the pricing , one can assume that the device is sold unlocked  but we don’t have confirmation of that.But the product family page  mentions the word unlocked.The part number for the basic version is MD235ZA/A. Samsung uses iPhone Maps Screenshot For Galaxy Player 50 Graphic

Apple sells over 4 million iPhone 4S devices in 3 days

Apple just issued a press release that it has managed to sell over 4 million iPhone 4S devices in just over 3 days since it’s launch on Oct 14th. The iPhone 4S is available in just a handful of countries such as USA, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan and UK. Apple also released the iOS 5 Operating system last week and it claims over 25 million users are already on iOS5. iPhone 4S At a Glance

Apple has released another addition to the iPhone series this year and they named it the iPhone 4S. As many of you remember the S indicates upgrades in hardware and software alike. In June of 2009 Apple made this very same bold move by releasing the 3GS which was a performance boosted 3G. Many claim to be “disappointed” by the decision yet the record sales disprove that claim abruptly. Whether you approve of the decision or not the 4S claims to be a faster, more efficient version of the wildly popular 4 released in June 2010. Samsung seeks to stop iPhone 4S sales in Japan, Australia


Samsung has filed preliminary injunction in the Tokyo District Court, Japan and in the New South Wales Registry, Australia to stop the sales of Apple’s iPhone 4S. This ban is regarding to the infringements on HSPA standard related patent and 3 user interface patent in Japan and infringements related to wireless telecommunications standards such as WCDMA and HSPA in Australia. Pulse introduces cross-device syncing

Siri comes to the iPhone 4

Just a few days into the iPhone 5 4S release and iOS 5 roll out  , a group of enterprising ‘hackers’ have already begun preliminary work on porting Siri to the iPhone 4. Understandably it is still early days for the process as the phone can be seen to be pretty sluggish with Siri onboard.
