Samsung Galaxy Grand with 5-inch display, 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.1 announced

Samsung has announced Galaxy Grand, a new Android phone in the Galaxy series. It has a 5-inch (800 x 480 Pixels) capacitive touch screen display and is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor. It runs on Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 8MP auto focus camera with LED flash, BSI sensor for better low-light imaging, zero shutter-lag and ultra-quick camera start-up. It also has a 2MP HD front-facing camera. It would come in dual SIM (GT-I9082) and single SIM (GT-I9080) variants. It also Samsung’s unique features such as Multi Window (Multiscreen), S Voice, Smart Stay, Direct Call, Smart Alert and AllShare Play. Zen UltraTab A700 3G 7-inch Android Tablet with Voice calling launched for Rs. 9499

Zen Mobile has launched UltraTab A700 3G, their new tablet in the UltraTab range. It has a 7-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive multi-touch display and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) similar to the UltraTab A100. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz Cortex A8 processor. It has a SIM card slot that supports 3G/2G SIM cards and also comes with voice calling capabilities. It has 1.3 Megapixel front-facing camera for video calling and supports Flash playback for a rich entertainment experience. HTC M7, 4.7 inch 1080p successor to the One X leaked, runs sense 5

According to a new leak from the industry’s leading leakster – Evleaks, HTC is preparing to launch its much awaited successor to the HTC One X and it is supposedly featuring a 4.7 inch full HD 1080p screen like the HTC J Butterfly phone that it launched a while back.  And not only that, the HTC M7 will reportedly feature the updated Sense 5 UX.

Samsung Exynos 4 exploit grants dangerous R/W access to RAM

A keen XDA member named alephzain has exploited a rather big security hole in devices that are powered by the Samsung Exynos 4 chipset. These Exynos 4 powered devices apparently have their physical memory access open for all kinds of applications, if exploited. Sounds serious.

Times of India launches Alive Augmented Reality News app for Android, iPhone and BlackBerry

Times of India has launched a new app called Alive that would let you view videos, photos, and polls related to a news just by pointing the app at a newspaper item with Alive logo. This app is available for Android, iPhone, BlackBerry and Nokia Symbian Smartphones and would offer a captivating experience for the users than just reading a newspaper. The app has crossed 250,000 downloads on the launch day, leading to 300,000 augmentation views on a single day. Karbonn Smart Tab 10 with 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.1 now available for Rs. 10280

 

Karbonn Smart Tab 10, a new Android tablet in the Smart Tab range is now available online from Saholic. The Karbonn Smart Tab 10 (Cosmic) comes with a 1.5 GHz dual-core ARM Cortex A9 processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 9.7-inch (1024 x 768 pixels) display, 2MP rear  camera and a VGA front-facing camera. The company started selling Smart Tab 1 tablet with Jelly Bean back in August. The Karbonn Smart Tab 9 and Smart Tab 3, 9-inch and 7.1-inch tablets were officially released back in October. Google+ for Android, iPhone and iPad updated with new features

Google has updated the Google+ apps for Android, iPhone and iPad. This brings new features including Google+ Communities, option to subscribe to any circle for notifications. This new Google+ version 3.3 update also adds option to view and explore Photo Sphere images and Google+ lock screen widget on devices running on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). Google+ for iPhone and iPad version 4.0 update brings new compose window for easier sharing and lot of left out features such as new design and Find people options that are already available on Google+ for Android. Micromax A110 Superfone Canvas 2 vs Intex Aqua 5.0 Photo Gallery

Micromax A68 Smarty 4.0 with 4-inch display, Android 4.0 now available for Rs. 6490

Micromax A68 Smarty 4.0, new phone in the Smarty range is now available from online retailers Saholic and Flipkart. The company launched the A25 Smarty budget Android phone couple of months back. The A68 comes with 2G EDGE support similar to the A25. It has a 4-inch (480 x 800 pixels) TFT capacitive touch screen IPS display and is powered by a 1 GHz MediaTek MT6515 processor. Space Zoo Fangogo Unique Apptoon released for Android

We saw Kitz, the Street Cat, an Apptoon for iPhone last month. Here is the Space Zoo Fangogo , a new Apptoon for Android. This is an interactive comic book app that combines music and video. Foursquare for Android updated with new Explore features, Swipeable Venue photos and more

Foursquare for Android has been updated (v 2012.12.12) that brings new features including important stuff in places to explore such as ratings and phone number for new places, swipeable photos at the top of the venues, popular tips at the places you have visited. The venue ratings were available for the Foursquare app for iPhone last month, that shows scores on a scale of 1 to 10 for a place to show how popular it is.
