Videocon A20 and A30 Dual SIM Android Smartphones launched for Rs. 4999 and Rs. 7299

Videocon has entered into the Smartphone segment with the launched of A20 and A30, affordable Android Smartphones in India. These are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon Processors and has Dual SIM support with Dual Standby. The A20 comes with a 3.5-inch HVGA display, 1GHz processor 3MP rear Camera and a VGA front-facing camera, while the A30 comes with a 4.0-inch WVGA display, 1GHz dual-core processor, 5MP auto focus rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera. These phones also come with pre-loaded apps including Facebook, TOI, ET, History Eraser and more. HTC One S JellyBean update roll out starts

HTC has started the roll out of the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update in some markets including UK. We had access to a UK unit and a massive 600 MB update showed up via OTA today. The update bears the version number 3.16.401.8 and measures 612.27 MB.We decided to give it a go and it was the much awaited jelly bean update. HTC had promised that it will release Android 4.1 JellyBean for the One S and One X this year and looks like the Taiwanese phone maker is keeping its word ! Intex iBuddy Connect 7-inch tablet with Voice calling, Android 4.0 launched for Rs 7,990

Intex has launched the iBuddy Connect, a new 7-inch tablet in the iBuddy range. Most of the features are similar to the 7-inch i-Buddy tablet that was launched earlier this year, but this comes with a SIM card slot and supports voice calling features. It has a 7-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display and is powered by a 1 GHz processor. It runs on Android 4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and comes with a 2MP rear camera other than the VGA front-facing camera. It also comes with pre-loaded apps such as Nimbuzz, Skype, Facebook, India Today and Aaj Tak. Dropbox Beta for Android updated with Multiple photo sharing, deleting and Albums in Photos tab

Dropbox for Android introduced photos tabs for uploads back in October, now they have released a new Beta version that enhances the photos tab. The new 2.2.2.8 experimental build for Android brings option select, share , delete and create albums from the photos tab. The Dropbox for iPhone and iPad got the Photos tab in the version 2.0 update last week but these new features are not available yet. Flipboard for Android gets Tablet support finally

Filpboard, popular social magazine app for Android has been updated to version 1.9.14 that finally brings tablet support. This would let you browse the app easily on Android tablets with the new UI optimized for tablets. The tablet interface has a sidebar with topics and offers four pages of tiles to browse quickly. SwiftKey v3.1 for Android brings new theme, new languages including Hindi, Hinglish and more

SwiftKey keyboard for Android has been updated to version 3.1 that brings support for new languages including Hindi and Hinglish (hybrid of Hindi and English), new Berry theme and more. SwiftKey now includes support for 54 different languages. Nuance introduced introduced support for Hinglish keyboard in Swype for Android earlier this year. SwiftKey is also offering both the SwiftKey 3.1 for Android Phones and Tablets at a 50% discount for a limited period, just like last year. Nokia Lumia 920 vs 808 Pureview vs Samsung Galaxy S3 Video Quality Comparison

We had just unboxed the Nokia Lumia 920 a few days back and are pleasantly surprised by its camera performance, especially in the video recording department. So, we gathered up two other phones(with point and shoot rivaling cameras) namely the Nokia 808 PureView and the Samsung Galaxy S3 from our labs and put the three to test in terms of full HD 1080p video recording. Simmtronics XPAD X-720 7-inch Tablet with Android 4.0 launched in India for Rs. 4600

Simmtronics Semiconductors has launched XPAD X-720 with a 7-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive multi-touch display and Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It has a 1 GHz Cortex A8 processor and comes with a VGA front-facing camera. The tablet is made in Simmtronics factory in India and the company had already launched the tablet in Middle East and GCC countries like Saudi, Qatar and UAE. Karbonn Smart Tab 10 officially launched for Rs. 10,490

Karbonn has officially launched the Smart Tab 10 (Cosmic) in India that showed up on online retail site earlier this week. It has a 9.7-inch (1024 x 768 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core ARM Cortex A9 processor. It runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and comes with a 2MP rear  camera and a VGA front-facing camera.

Samsung to fix Exynos 4 exploit with software update soon

A XDA member recently found an exploit in the Samsung devices powered by Exynos 4210 or a 4412 processors that would offer read/write access to the physical memory through malicious applications. Android Central now reports that they have received a official word from Samsung who have announced that they have acknowledged this issue and are working on a software fix that would roll out for these devices soon. Nvidia Tegra 4 slide leaks – Wayne GPU brings 72 cores

 

What you see above is a leaked slide from a Nvidia Tegra 4 aka Wayne presentation that appeared on the Chinese social networking site Sina Weibo. The slide reveals some interesting details about the new system on a chip from Nvidia, the apparent successor to the Tegra 3 mobile platform.
