Facebook Home for Android now available for International users

Facebook released the Facebook Home app for Android on the Google Play last Friday, but it was only available in the U.S. Google Play Store.The Facebook Home launcher is now available for International users on select Android devices. It was announced earlier this month, and the HTC First is the first device to come pre-loaded with Facebook Home launcher. Facebook Home has Cover feed that offers photos and updates from your newsfeed, Notifications, Chat Heads, App Launcher to launch Facebook apps and more. Basemark X Benchmark Performance on Android devices

Basemark X

Rightware launched the Basemark X, a cross-platform benchmarking tool for Android, iPhone and iPad last week. While the iOS app is still waiting for the approval in the Apple iTunes Store, the Android application is out now. The Basemark X is built on gaming engine Unity 4, which is used in hundreds of mobile games. We managed to run the Basemark 1.0 on several high-end quad-core Android smartphones. Check out the Basemark X 1.0 Game Graphics Performance Test results below.

AOC Breeze 7-inch and 9.7-inch tablets running Android 4.1 launched for Rs. 7990 and Rs. 12990

AOC Breeze Tablet 9.7 inch

AOC, popular for it’s monitors and Televisions has entered into the tablet market with the launch of two new Android tablets under the Breeze category. These come in 7-inch and 9.7-inch displays, powered by a 1.5 GHz processor and runs on Android 4.1.1 (Jelly Bean). The display resolutions of these tablets are not available yet. The 9.7-inch Breeze tablet has a micro-HDMI port that would let you connect it to external devices such as Monitors, TVs, and Projectors. Samsung Galaxy S4 likely to launch in India on April 27th at around Rs.40000

The Samsung Galaxy S4 might be coming to India as soon as April 27th. The Korean smartphone giant is gearing up to launch the Galaxy S4 in several countries across the world on April 26-27th. Samsung launched the much anticipated successor to the Galaxy S3 at a launch event in New York City last month . India is a key market for Samsung and would be getting the flagship Android device pretty soon. The S4 features a 5 inch display , quad-core or octa-core processor (depending on the market), Android 4.2.2 , 13 Megapixel camera, 2600 mAh battery and many other interesting features.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to come with a new design and a metal body?

Samsung Galaxy Note 3, successor of the company’s Android phablet, the Galaxy Note 2 might come with a completely new design and a metal body, according to a report from Sammobile. The report also says that this move is due to the success of the HTC One, which has a unibody metal frame. The Taiwanese manufacturer HTC is popular for using premium material on their phones. Alcatel One Touch Idol and One Touch Idol Ultra Android smartphones launched in India for Rs. 15800 and Rs. 21000

Alcatel One Touch has launched the One Touch Idol and One Touch Idol Ultra, new Android smartphones in India. Both these smartphones were announced earlier this year. The One Touch Idol has a 4.5-inch (540 x 960 Pixels) qHD IPS display and the One Touch Idol Ultra comes with a 4.7-inch (720 x 1280 pixels) HD AMOLED display with Corning gorilla glass protection. These phones run on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and has a 8MP rear camera with LED Flash and 720p HD video recording. The One Touch Idol Ultra would be featured in the Iron Man 3 movie that is releasing later this month. Gionee P1 with 3.5-inch display, 1 GHz processor launched for Rs. 4999

Gionee launched the Dream D1, the company’s flagship smartphone in India last month, which we reviewed recently. Now the company has launched Gionee P1, an entry-level Android smartphone in India. It has a 3.5-inch (480 x 320 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1GHz MediaTek MT6515M processor and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). It has a 2-megapixel rear camera (but on the press render above it’s mentioned as 1.3MP) and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. Asus India is gearing up to launch the Intel powered FonePad tablet in India . This 7 inch tablet was announced at MWC back in February and is coming to India very soon. Intex launched the Aqua Wonder Quadcore, successor of the Aqua Wonder today. Two new phones Aqua Glow and the Aqua Active are listed on the official Intex website. The Intex Aqua Glow has a 4.0-inch (480 x 800 Pixels) capacitive touch screen display and the Aqua Active has a 3.5-inch (480 x 320 pixels) capacitive touch screen display Both these phones are powered by a 1 GHz Spreadtrum SC6820 processor and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). It was first spotted online last week and packs a 4.5-inch (960 x 540 pixels) Capacitive touch screen IPS display, powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It packs a 8-megapixel auto focus rear camera with dual LED flash and a 2 MP front-facing camera. It comes with several pre-loaded apps including Flipkart, Facebook, Nimbuzz and more. Looks like Micromax is on a roll. The Micromax Funbook Talk P360 and the Micromax Funbook Talk P362 tablets went on sale online last week, now a new 7-inch Funbook tablet, the Funbook 3G P560 is on sale from online retailer Saholic. Most of the features are similar to the Micromax Funbook 3G P600 that went on sale back in February. It has a 7-inch capacitive touch screen display and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), but this one is powered by a 1 GHz single-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM7227A processor, instead of 1 GHz dual-core Snapdragon MSM8225A processor in the P600. It’s been less than a month since the Micromax A51 Blot was spotted on the official Micromax website. It is finally on sale from online retailers Saholic and Snapdeal. It has a 3.5-inch (320 x 480 pixels) display, powered by a 832 MHz Broadcom processor and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS. It packs a 2 MP rear camera and a 0.3 MP front-facing camera similar to the A35. Micromax launched the A35 Bolt, the company’s first Android smartphone in the Bolt series back in February. The update has started rolling out in Korea that would bring Smart Video feature recognizes the position of the viewer’s eyes and automatically plays or stops the video and the Smart Camera feature, an extension of the Smart Video, would let you capture photographs using both the front and back cameras for a picture-in-picture composition. Facebook Messenger for Android updated with Chat Heads

Facebook announced the Facebook Home last week that comes pre-installed with the HTC First. It brings several features including Chat Heads feature. We brought you the hands-on hands-on impressions of the Facebook Home last week, but it didn’t have the chat heads feature, since it was a pre-release version.
