Sony Xperia E1 Dual Unboxing

Sony-Xperia-E1-Dual-Unboxing (8)

Sony has been doing a lot of things right recently. They launched their latest flagship, the Xperia Z2 at the Mobile World Congress, which really impressed us, and then there was the Xperia Z1 Compact earlier, which is easily the best “mini” device out there. But Sony is not about flagships alone, as they have a whole portfolio to care about, that cover a wide range prices. On that note, we have here, the Sony Xperia E1 Dual, which is the company’s entry level model that competes with the various Micromax and Karbonn devices of our market, let alone Samsung or Nokia. Sony has been making devices in this segment for a long time, and the last popular one in this range was the Xperia Tipo Dual. Consider the E1 Dual as a spiritual successor of the Tipo. To see what the device is all about, we unboxed it on video and did a quick hardware overview of it, watch –

Sony Xperia M2 MWC 2014 -1

Amongst the high spec devices launched by Sony, the M2 emerged as the device aimed at the mid range segment. The phone that has a design language decidedly similar to the flagship Z2. The front of the phone has a large 4.8 inch display that has a resolution of 540×960 pixels. The device is predominantly made of glossy plastic which is quite fingerprint prone. Continue reading “Sony Xperia M2 Hands On, Photo Gallery”

We just reviewed the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact a couple of days back, and saw the official launch of it happen in India yesterday, with it priced at Rs. 36,990/-. The phone carries forward almost all the USPs of its bigger brother, the Xperia Z1 and one of the constants is the Sony EXMOR RS 20.7 MP sensor. We detailed its performance in the review, which was really good considering the competition and factoring in the now known price. So, we thought instead of burying it in a review, it would need a special showcase of sorts, so here you go, all the full resolution samples from the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact’s 20.7 MP camera.

We had just unboxed the new Xperia Z1 Compact, Sony’s latest “mini” flagship device that is as powerful as its big brother, the Xperia Z1. The Japanese had finally delivered what everyone wanted, a small screened device in today’s standards, but with no compromise on power or features. With Snapdragon 800, 20.7 MP Sony camera with G Lens and Bionz sensor, a waterproof body in a design similar to the Z1, it checks all the marks for the best possible Android device with a smaller screen, unlike the ill performing “mini”s from Samsung or HTC. But that aside, the Z1 compact also looks really good, with a colourful lime coloured outer shell in the variant we got, so to showcase the device before our review, here is a photo gallery and walkthrough of the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact.

Priced at a smidgen under $500, you get a 6.4 inch Triluminos Display, Snapdragon 800 processor that make for a very handy device that is almost a tablet, just a bit more portable. The IP58 certification, slim shell further contribute to making it a rather interesting miniature tablet. In our Xperia Z Ultra review we found it to be just a bit too big to be used as a phone, with the radio components out of the picture, we should be able to look at the Z Ultra WiFi edition in a new light ie as a very portable tablet like crossover device.  Continue reading “Sony launches WiFi only Xperia Z Ultra in Japan”
