Samsung traditionally announce members of the Note family during IFA in Berlin every year and this year was thought to be no exception. But according to a source, the company is apparently planning to unveil the smartphone sometime in July itself in order to beat the iPhone 6S which is expected to reach the markets sometime in August.

Samsung has fixed the ‘Halo’ effect on the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge logos

If you take a look at photos of the initial batches of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge or the ones from MWC 2015, you will notice that there is a halo of sorts around the front logo of the device. This is true particularly for the Gold variant of the device. Now it seems that Samsung have fixed the issue in the newer production batches as can be seen in our Gold unit of the S6 Edge as well. The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Indian variant (G925I) is now receiving a new software update. The update is 161.84MB in size and changes the baseband version to G925IDVU1AOE2. The update brings around bug fixes, improvements in performance and stability.

Samsung Orbis design and specs leaked through Gear SDK

The Galaxy S series was aspirational indeed, and was often ahead of the iPhone in many departments, except for the ones related to “premium”. Apparently the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge at times is displaying colour in 8 bit, sort of like a watercolor painting for some users. The issue is not there all the time, happens only quite rarely and has only been spotted on a few units of the Galaxy S6 Edge so far.
