Hike introduced version 5.0 of its Messenger app back in June with new UI along with Hike Wallet to allow users to send and receive money. At that time Hike said that it had tied up with Yes Bank for UPI and wallet service. Today the company has announced its partnership with Airtel Payments Bank to power its Wallet. Hike said that it has over 100 millions users and in just 5 months of launch of Wallet, it has seen over 5 million transactions every month, growing 30% month on month. Hike Messenger secures $65M from Tiger Global and BSB, hits 35 million users

Bharti Soft Bank’s hike messenger has crossed 20 million users of which 5 million were added during last three months. The instant messenger announced in February that its had clocked 15 million users.

Facebook India rolls out ”I’m a Voter” button

With an aim to encourage Indian users to vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2014, Facebook has added a “I’m a Voter” button. Indian users will see a reminder message about voting on the polling day depending on once locations at the the top of their New Feed. The “I’m a Voter” button will be present next to the reminder message and both these features will be available on Facebook mobile apps on polling day.

BBM for iPhone is here! Yes, for real. Here are some screenshots of BBM or BlackBerry Messenger running on an Apple iPhone 5 with iOS7.  BlackBerry announced few months back that it was bringing the BlackBerry Messenger service to iOS and Android and has kept its promise. The app is a free 30MB download which has gone live on the New Zealand iTunes app store as of now. It would be going live on the Indian App Store later today and will be available worldwide. You can either use your existing BlackBerryID (If you were using a BlackBerry device in the past) or create a new one. You need to verify the associated email account to get things working.
