Nokia Belle Refresh update now rolling out, already available for Nokia N8 in India

After a long time, finally all Nokia N8, E7, C7, C6-01, X7 and Nokia Oro customers are going to rejoice. Nokia support has just posted on their Nokia Discussions support forums that they have just started rolling out the update for Symbian called Nokia Belle Refresh for the Nokia N8, Nokia E7, Nokia C7, Nokia C6-01, Nokia X7 and Nokia Oro with version number 111.040.1511. Nokia E6 will have FW version number 111.140.0058. It is already available for the Nokia N8 in India. Nokia Symbian Anna Update rolling out to N8, E7, C7 and C6-01

Nokia has announced that the much awaited Symbian Anna update is finally available for Symbian phones such as the N8, C7 , E7 and C6-01.  The update brings a new UI along with some improvements in messaging , maps and the browser. The update is available through Ovi Suite and as an Over The Air update.The Over the Air normally takes a bit longer to appear so you can try using Ovi Suite to check if your phone has received the update. The release also says that more than 10 Symbian phones will be launched in the next 12 months. The update is slowly rolling out to all countries . Have you updated your Nokia to Anna ? Let us know ! Nokia E7: Does It Compete With The N8 Or The HTC Desire Z?

In many of my posts about the Nokia E7, ever since I received my trial unit, I kept saying that “I don’t get it”. I don’t understand the purpose of the E7 or who will buy it or for what reason. The rationale behind my thought was that in terms of Symbian competition, the Nokia N8 offers a much more complete package, while in terms of QWERTY/Business competition, there are plenty of better options with Android on board.

However, saying something is not like proving it in an objective comparison of specs, so given that I have an N8, E7 and HTC Desire Z in my hands, I set out to take some pictures of all of them for you, and to do a specifications comparison table.

Hits and Misses – The Nokia E7

The Nokia E7. Nokia’s answer to its loyal Fans who were waiting for a worthy successor of the Communicator. It’s also the answer to all QWERTY fans, finally wanting to get rid of their horrendous N97s. Announced at last year’s Nokia World in London, Nokia has set out to please fans from both camps. I have decided to gather my thoughts on the Nokia E7 in something called Hits and Misses – I will look at certain details of the Nokia E7 and either give it a plus or a minus – a hit or a miss. So what is an absolute hit for me? And where is Nokia missing something? Read on to find out what grinds my gears.

Nokia E7 gets software update to PR1.1 version 14.002

The Nokia E7 has got a minor update to version 14.002 or PR 1.1. The update is 897 kB and is available via OTA. While the complete change log is not known , it is expected to improve the phone’s performance and fix some bugs.

Nokia E7 in India @ Rs.29999

The Nokia E7 was finally launched today in New Delhi, India. The phone was launched by Bollywood Actor Shahrukh Khan and Shivakumar, MD and Vice-President of Nokia India. The price of the Symbian smartphone is Rs.29999 and is targeted at business users.Nokia E7 is the first Symbian^3 phone which comes with a full QWERTY keyboard.
