vivo confirms X70 series will feature self-developed V1 imaging chip, launch in September; vivo tablet coming in H1 2022

After recent rumours, vivo’s executive vice president, Hu Baishan in an interview with the media today confirmed that the company will use the first self-developed V1 image chip in the vivo X70 series. The new smartphone series will be introduced in September, as rumoured earlier. Samsung just launched the new Galaxy Watch 4 series that includes Galaxy Watch4 and Watch4 Classic in India. These are powered by the new Exynos W920 5nm processor and run One UI Watch 3 on top of WearOS, making these the first models to run the new Wear OS built jointly with Google.  These come in 1.2″ and 1.4″ models with Super AMOLED, Full Color Always On Display with Corning Gorilla Glass with DX+ protection. Samsung just launched its Galaxy Buds2 in India, after it was introduced at its Galaxy Unpacked event earlier this month. This joins the Galaxy Buds Live and Galaxy Buds Pro and will replace the Buds+ that was launched last year. It features dynamic two-way speakers for crisp, clear high notes and a deep bass, while the Active Noise Cancellation feature helps block unwanted sound. Redmi Note 10 gets fourth price hike in India, now starts at Rs. 13999

Xiaomi’s Redmi brand launched the Redmi Note 10 smartphone back in March this year in two variants – 4GB RAM with 64GB storage and 6GB RAM with 128GB storage starting at a price of Rs. 11.999. In less than a month of third price hike, the company has increased the price of the phone once again by Rs. 500. It now starts at Rs. 13,999 for the base 4GB + 64GB version, so the total price hike since the launch is Rs. 2000. Samsung introduced the Galaxy A52s, the company’s latest 5G smartphone and an enhanced version of the Galaxy A52 smartphone, last week. Now the company has started teasing the launch of the smartphone in the country, which is expected sometime in early September. The company has teased only the Awesome White and Awesome Black colours, so it is not clear if the company is planning to sell the Awesome Mint and Awesome Violet colours as well. Xiaomi posts 84.4% YoY increase in profits in Q2 2021, acquires self-driving startup Deepmotion for $77.3 million

Xiaomi has reported its earning for the second quarter (Q2 2021) that ended June 30, 2021. It reported revenue of 87.8 billion yuan (US$ 13.56 billion), an increase of 64% compared to Q2 2020. Net profit for the quarter was approximately 6.3 billion yuan (US$1.28 billion), up 87.4% YoY. The company said that the total revenue and adjusted net profit both reached record highs in the quarter, demonstrating the excellence of the business model and the robustness of its operations. vivo X70 Pro+ with 6.7-inch FHD+ 120Hz curved AMOLED display, Snapdragon 888, quad rear cameras with ZEISS optics surface

After the vivo X70 and X70 Pro renders, now the CAD-based renders of the vivo X70 Pro+, the top-end model in the series has surfaced, thanks to @OnLeaks. This reveals a 6.7-inch curved punch-hole screen, which is expected to be an AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. It also shows quad rear cameras with ZEISS optics and triple LED flash along with laser autofocus. Camera specs are not available yet, but it could include a periscope camera.
