LG launches Quick Voice intelligent voice recognition service for Optimus phones in Korea

LG has launched Quick Voice, their own intelligent voice recognition to compete with Apple’s Siri and Samsung S Voice. This voice recognition app would let the users call contacts, on the address book, set alarm, set appointments on the calendar and open apps. It would also let you open maps to view directions, check weather forecasts, stocks, open YouTube videos and perform web search all using voice commands. Vodafone officially announces new 3G data plans


Vodafone has officially announced its new 3G data plans. Vodafone reduced its 3G tariffs for pre-paid customers last month, but the plans were not clear. Later they announced post-paid 3G plans that were applicable only in select circles. These new plans start from Rs. 25 for 25 MB data usage and go up to Rs. 1599 for 12 GB of data usage. Reliance offers full length movies for 3G subscribers at Rs. 30 per movie

Reliance Communications (RCOM) has partnered with BIGFlix, a part of Reliance Group’s digital entertainment business to offer full length movies to Reliance 3G subscribers at Rs. 30 per movie. The official WinZip app is now available for Android. This would enable you open, save and preview zip files on your Android device including encrypted Zip files. ZTE Grand X LTE with 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.0 announced

ZTE has announced the Grand X LTE (T82), their first single-chip LTE smartphone at CommunicAsia 2012. It is powered by 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It has 8MP rear camera with flash, 1080p HD video recording and front camera that supports 720p HD video calls. Nokia PureView 808 coming to the US with a $699 pricetag

Nokia has just announced that Nokia 808 PureView will be available in the US unlocked at Amazon. The pentaband phone will support AT&T 3G but T-Mobile users will be relegated to 2G speeds. The pricing has been set at $699 but there is no official word on availability.

Comparison : Microsoft Surface Windows RT vs Surface Windows 8 Pro

Microsoft today announced its first series of self manufactured tablets under the name of Surface. They bring in unique hardware features like an inbuilt kickstand and a high end Magnesium casing. Two separate models will be available at launch. While one will run on Windows RT, the other is a full blown Intel tablet running on Windows 8 Pro.

Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos Dual SIM GSM Smartphone officially launched in India


Samsung has officially launched the Samsung Galaxy Ace DUOS (GT- S6802) in India. It was announced last month and went on sale earlier this month. It has Dual SIM support with hot swap function and Dual SIM always-on feature that automatically forwards calls from the phone number on SIM 2, even if a user is on the phone with SIM 1’s number. It has 3.5-inch (320 x 480 Pixels) TFT touch screen display and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS. It is powered by 832 MHz processor and has 5MP Auto Focus camera. MTS launches new MBlaze plans, revises existing plans in Kolkata and West Bengal

MTS has reduced their existing tariff plans and has also introduced new plans for MBlaze customers in Kolkata and West Bengal circle. The new Rs. 45, Rs. 105, Rs. 490 would offer 150 MB, 300 MB and 3 GB of free data. The Rs. 45 plan comes with 7 days validity and the other plans come with 30 days validity. They have also introduced Rs. 698 plan with 4 GB of free data with 60 days validity. Other select plans would offer 3 times more data (Eg: Rs 198 that offered 200 MB free data would now offer 750 MB free data with 30 days validity. Hardware

The Nokia Asha 303 feels like a premium device in the hand. The curved back with an aluminum back panel definitely helps. Tapered sides and lack of any sharp edges ensure that the phone fits well in the hand.  The QWERTY keyboard is slightly recessed which somewhat helps in balancing the phone while typing quickly.

HTC One S now available in India for Rs. 33,000

HTC One S is now available in India from online retailer Saholic. HTC announced the One S at MWC 2012 and the price of One S for India was revealed on TheMobileStore last month. The Saholic site says it has 1.5GHz dual-core processor, but according to HTC India site, it comes with 1.7 GHz processor which is Snapdragon S3 instead of S4 in some countries like US and UK.  It runs on Android 4.0 ICS with HTC Sense 4 and has 4.3-inch (540×960 pixels) display, Beats Audio, and the same 8MP auto focus camera with flash, 1080p HD video recording and VGA front-facing camera present in the One X.
