Futuremark has released 3DMark Cross-platform benchmarking tool for Android as they announced last year. 3DMark is popular benchmarking tool for PC, and the 3D Mark for Android has Ice Storm and Ice Storm Extreme tests that are based on OpenGL ES 2.0.  It lets you compare scores across all these platforms, since the test content, settings and rendering resolution are similar. HTC First leaked ahead of 4th April Facebook event

Facebook has been rumored to be working on a hardware element for its mobile strategy for years now and its intentions are expected to be revealed at an Android centric event to be held on 4th of April. The popular social network has worked with smartphone manufacturer, HTC, in the past on Android hardware and is expected to announce another partnership at the event.

JoikuShare for Android launched, lets you share files over WiFi

JoikuShare for Android

Joiku, a Finland-based company has launched the JoikuShare app for Android devices. This app lets you easily share and transfer your phone photos, music, videos and files with other WiFi devices. It uses uses local WiFi network or phone WiFi HotSpot to share files. It also acts as Media Player for remote WiFi playback of music and videos of your phone. Samsung Galaxy Mega line of Android smartphones rumored with 5.8 and 6.3 inch displays

A new report suggests that Samsung might be working on a  new line of devices even larger than the Galaxy Note phablet. Dubbed the Galaxy Mega, the  ‘phones’ will sport displays ranging between 5.8 inches and 6.3 inches. The operating system of choice is expected to be Android.

Vodafone launches Super Fan contest for IPL 2013


IPL 2013 is starting tomorrow, with the opening ceremony kicking off in few hours. Vodafone has launched the Super Fan contest for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2013. This contest would let 76 lucky Vodafone customers stand a chance to win a match ball autographed by the winning captain on Live TV during 76 matches, in the 54 day long tournament. Google Nexus 7 32GB WiFi and 3G versions launched in India for Rs. 18999 and Rs. 21999


Google Nexus 7 16GB version went on sale in India from the Google Play Store last month at a price tag of Rs. 15,999, which is already being delivered. Asus has launched the 32GB WiFi and 32GB 3G versions of the tablet in India. Google unveiled the Nexus 7 last June, and the 3G version with 32GB storage was announced at the Google I/O in October last year. Reliance JIO Infocomm and Reliance Communications to share RCOM’s optic fiber network

Reliance JIO Infocomm owned by Mukesh Ambani has tied up with Reliance Communications to get acces to the latter’s optic fiber network. RCOM, owned by Anil Ambani, has a cross country fiber network spread across 120,000 kilometeres. The network will serve as the backbone for Reliance Jio’s 4G network.

LG Optimus G Pro sales surpass half a million units

LG has announced that the sales (to supply channel) of their latest flagship, the Optimus G Pro has surpassed 500 thousand units in their home county Korea, in less than 40 days of launch. The LG Optimus G Pro was unveiled in February, that went on sale in Korea on February 21st. LG announced last month that they have sold over 10 million LTE smartphones globally, since their first LTE smartphone that was launched in Korea back in October 2011. The Optimus LTE sold 5,000 units on the first day of the launch, LG has announced they sold 10,000 units of the Optimus G Pro on the launch day. HTC Desire P with 4.3-inch display, 1 GHz dual-core processor announced

HTC has announced the Desire P, a new Android smartphone in Taiwan. It has a 4.3-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen Super LCD2 display and is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor. No details about the Android version, but it is likely to run on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 8MP auto focus camera at the back with LED Flash, BSI sensor for better low-light imaging and comes with Beats audio support. Huawei Ascend Y300 that was announced earlier this year at the MWC 2013 is now on pre-order in India from online retailer Flipkart. It has a 4.0-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen IPS display, powered by a 1 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8225 processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) with Huawei Emotion 1.0 UI. It has a 5MP auto focus camera with LED Flash and a 0.3 MP front-facing camera. This is the successor of the Ascend Y200 that was launched last year. Huawei launched the Ascend Y210D with dual SIM support earlier this year. The Huawei Ascend G510 is also on pre-order along with the Y300. It has a 4.5-inch (854 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen IPS display, powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8225 processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) with Huawei Emotion UI. It has a 5MP auto focus camera with LED Flash and a 0.3 MP front-facing camera. It has Huawei’s proprietary technology that enables boot in 5 seconds and has  DTS Audio support. This mid-range phone lies between the Huawei Ascend G600 and the Ascend G330 that were launched earlier this year.
