Reliance JIO Infocomm and Reliance Communications to share RCOM’s optic fiber network


Reliance JIO Infocomm owned by Mukesh Ambani has tied up with Reliance Communications to get acces to the latter’s optic fiber network. RCOM, owned by Anil Ambani, has a cross country fiber network spread across 120,000 kilometeres. The network will serve as the backbone for Reliance Jio’s 4G network.

The agreement states that Reliance Infocomm will pay Rs. 1,200 crore as a one-time indefisible right (IRU) fee for sharing the network.The agreement provides for join working arrangements to be put in place after up gradation of the optical fiber network to provide next generation services.
