PVR has launched NFC-enabled PVR app for BlackBerry 10 devices, powered by NEC’s Integrated E-money solution. LG rolls out Android 4.1 update for Optimus Vu 2 in Korea
LG has started rolling out Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) update for the Optimus Vu 2 in Korea. The LG Optimus Vu 2 was launched in Korea back in September with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). LG confirmed Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) update for range of high-end devices including, Optimus LTE 2, Optimus G, Optimus Vu and Optimus Vu 2 last year. LG buys webOS for Smart TVs
LG Electronics has announced that they have acquired webOS operating system technology from HP that include, source code, associated documentation, engineering talent and related websites associated with webOS for development of next-generation Smart TV technology. We brought you the Nokia Lumia 520 photo gallery and having spent a bit more time with the handset, here’s our first hands on impressions of the phone. The Lumia 520 packs in 1Ghz Dual Core Qualcomm processor combined with 512MB RAM which delivers decent performance.

Sony Mobile to launch Firefox OS device in 2014
Mozilla previewed the first commercial build of its Firefox OS at the MWC 2013. The company had announced that Alcatel (TCL), LG, ZTE and Huawei would release smartphones running Firefox OS later this year. Telefónica one of the operator partners for the Firefox OS has announced that they have partnered with Sony Mobile to bring the Firefox-powered mobile devices next year. Konka, a popular Chinese manufacturer has entered into Indian market with 2 Android Smartphones, Konka Expose 960 and Expose 970. These are powered by 1 GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6577 Processors and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). These have a 8MP auto focus camera at the back with LED Flash and a 2MP front-facing camera. MWC Day 1 Round Up Video
We’re just about to begin with day 2 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona but decided to do a round up of all that’s gone down so far. On day 1 we saw Nokia launch four new products targeting the budget segment. The Nokia 105 which is a 15 Euro phone with a month of standby time and the Nokia Lumia 720 with a f1.9 camera particularly stood out from the rest of the devices.
Moving on, we had Sony announce its Xperia Tablet Z. A 10″ tablet with a full HD screen. It is powered by a now fairly standard quad core processor. LG showed off the Optimus G Pro, the successor to the Optimus G announced last year. Specifications include a full HD display and a Snapdragon S4 quad core processor. LG L3 II and L7 II were some of the other phones announced.

Asus had a very interesting device to reveal at MWC. The FonePad with a 7″ screen also has an integrated dialer which means that it can also be used as a phone if you so wish. Also revealed was the Padfone Infinity which brings a full HD display on both the 5″ phone and the 10″ tablet that it slides into. ZTE had the Grand Memo with a massive 5.7″ Full HD display and powered by the Snapdragon 800 processor making it one of the first devices to run on the new chipset. So that was day 1 at the Mobile World Congress. We’ve got three more days to go and lots more to cover!

Airtel to launch Voice services for 4G LTE customers in Pune
Airtel has announced that they would launch voice services for 4G TD-LTE customers in Pune soon, through its existing GSM network. Airtel is the only operator in India to combine voice with TD-LTE services through GSM network. Airtel launched their 4G LTE services in Pune last October, followed by Kolkata and Bengaluru. Nokia Siemens Networks would deploy its Circuit Switched FallBack (CSFB) voice solution in the operator’s live TD-LTE network in Pune. LG unveils World’s smallest Wireless Charger WCP-300
LG has releases a new Wireless Charging Pad (WCP-300), which is just 6.98 cm in diameter. LG claims that it is the world’s smallest wireless charger. Even though it is small in size, it would would offer better charging efficiency than the existing LG wireless chargers with up to 1.7 times large area with its circular design. It has a 3.2-inch (320 x 240 pixels) capacitive touch screen IPS display, powered by a 1 GHz processor and comes with a 1540 mAh battery. Acer Liquid C1 Hands On
Acer announced three new handsets at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and the Liquid C1 was one of them alongside the Liquid E1 and Liquid Z2. The Liquid C1 is particularly interesting because it is running on the Intel Atom architecture. The phone is powered by a 1.2Ghz Intel Atom Z2420 processor paired with 1GB of RAM and the performance is quite impressive. The Nokia Lumia 720 was part of the new effort from Nokia to launch an attack on the fledgling mid range smartphone market. With the Lumia 620 already attacking a lower mid level pricing, there was still a massive gap between the 620 and the 820, and that is now filled by the Lumia 720. The Lumia 720 in short is very sleek, sexy and youthful. That description might apply to most of the Lumia devices but it is perfectly apt for the Lumia 720 and you’ll know why soon, when you read our hands on impressions after the break.
