Asus announced their Galaxy Note competitor in the form of Asus Fonepad Note 6 back in Computex held during June. The Asus Fonepad Note 6 is a 6inch phablet that comes with a 6inch Full HD display and is powered by an Intel Atom dual-core processor. To be a true Galaxy Note competitor, it comes with a Stylus. Asus announced the MeMO Pad 8 (ME180A) at the IFA 2013 in Berlin last week. Apple launched the iPad mini, the company’s first 7.9 inch display last year. Since these two tablets are almost similar in the size, we managed do a hands on comparison at the IFA. The Asus MeMO Pad 8 has a 8-inch HD LED Backlit IPS multi-touch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixel at 188 ppi pixel density. The iPad mini has a 7.9-inch LED Backlit IPS multi-touch display with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixel at 162 ppi pixel density. The Memo Pad 8 uses a quad-core quad-core MediaTek MT8125 Cortex A7 chip clocked at 1.6 GHz with PowerVR SGX5 series GPU and runs on Android 4.2.2, while the iPad mini comes with a dual-core Cortex A7 chip with PowerVR SGX543MP2 GPU and runs on iOS 6.

Slim is definitely in with manufacturers constantly looking to make their devices slimmer with even more features. With the Ascend P6, Huawei have come very close, packing a feature list including a 4.7 inch 720p screen, Quad-core processor and 8MP camera into a body just 6.2 mm thin.
In comparison, the Lumia 925 comes in at 8.5 mm with similar specs with the addition of a PureView camera and 4G LTE. Despite very clear differences, these hero devices share some design similarities. Apple is expected to unveil the company’s latest flagship smartphone, the iPhone 5S and a cheaper iPhone 5C at an event in Apple’s HQ in Cupertino. Nokia announced the 208, affordable feature phone along with the 207 back in July, now the phone is available in India from online retailer Snapdeal. It has a 2.4-inch (240 x 320 pixels) 65k color display with a physical T-9 keypad 3.5G and has 3G connectivity. It runs on Nokia Series 40 OS and comes pre-loaded with Facebook and Twitter and WhatsApp. It is 12.8mm thick and weighs 90.6 grams.
