S Mobility has launched Spice Smart Flo Poise Mi-451, the company’s latest entry-level smartphone in the Smart Flo series. It has a 4.5-inch (854 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen IPS display, powered by a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 3.2-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. It has dual SIM support and 2G (EDGE) connectivity. Acer Liquid E3 Hands on and Photo Gallery

Just ahead of the MWC 2014, Acer announced a couple of Android smartphones and it is showcasing them at the MWC 2014 show floor. Among the smartphones that it announced, the Acer Liquid E3 is one and it fits quite well in the range of mid-range Android smartphones quite well. Nokia Lumia Icon Hands on

At MWC 2014, both Microsoft and Nokia were present. Microsoft gave a few updates regarding their progress on Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1 while Nokia announced a series of Android running budget smartphones. At the Pepcom event, Microsoft and Nokia had a booth where they had showcased the Nokia Lumia Icon which is a 5inch version of the company’s latest flagship – Nokia Lumia 1520.

Nokia announced its X Series smartphones, the Nokia X, X+ and XL running on Android. These phones are based on Android AOSP with Nokia’s custom platform on top. Yesterday, SwiftKey announced that the Swifkey keyboard would be available for the Nokia X series of smartphones for free. Allwinner Technology has announced its UltraOcta A80 processor with PowerVR G6230 64-core GPU. It has four ARM Cortex-A7 and four Cortex-A15 CPU cores based on ARM big.LITTLE architecture and also has Heterogeneous Multi-Processing (HMP) that would let each CPU to be switched on or off as needed and also enables the use of all physical cores at the same time.

MediaTek MT6752 Octa-Core 64-bit SoC with LTE announced

MediaTek unveiled its quad-core 64-bit LTE SOC, MT6732 earlier this week, today the company has announced MT6752, the company’s latest Octa-Core LTE SoC at the Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona. It is pin compatible with the quad-core MT6732 chip. It has eight 64-bit ARM Cortex-A53 Cores and Mali-T760 GPU and is aimed at Super-mid market.

Vodafone India partners with Opera to bring web pass service

Vodafone India has partnered with Opera Software to bring web pass services for Indian customers. Opera Web Pass was announced back in 2012, and lets operators offer time or site specific, mobile internet offerings to their customers. BlackBerry Z10 price temporarily drops to Rs. 17990 in India

BlackBerry Z10 had already received a price cut in India last year, few months after it was launched at a price tag of Rs. 43,490. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of its foray into the Indian market, BlackBerry has cut the price of the BlackBerry Z10 to Rs. 17,990 for a limited period. Last year the company announced EMI schemes for the Z10 and up to Rs. 11000 discount on the Z10 in exchange for old phones.
