Yahoo mobile traffic to surpass desktop by end of 2014: Marissa Mayer

Since Marissa Mayer joined Yahoo in 2012, she had concentrated on mobile and mobile related features and services. All the acquisitions made by Yahoo last year were entirely focused to enhance its mobile offerings. Speaking in an interview at the TechCrunch Disrupt conference Mayer said that mobile traffic on Yahoo will outnumber that on desktop by the end of 2014.

Sony has launched the Xperia Z2, the company’s latest flagship smartphone in India. It was announced at the MWC 2014 earlier this year and packs a 5.2-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Triluminos Display with Live Colour LED powered by X-Reality, powered by 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). Moto X+1 for AT&T shows up on Motorola website briefly

At the start of this month, Motorola’s Moto X+1 appeared on MotoMaker website. The company however did not give any details about the phone and deleted the references on it. According to earlier rumors the Moto X+1 comes with 25 custom backplate options, including four leather options.

LG’s 5.5-inch Quad HD display gets certified, to be used in LG G3

LG Display has just announced that their 5.5-inch Quad HD LCD smartphone panel has been certified by NEMKO, Norway-based international testing and certification organization. LG announced their first Quad HD panel back in August last year and has a resolution of 2560 by 1440 pixels at a pixel density of 538ppi. It has the same 1.2 mm thickness, but this has 1.15 mm narrow bezel, 0.05 mm less than the panel introduced last year. Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 Review

Samsung Note Pro 12.2 -13While Android tablets have proven to sell a fair few numbers in  the entry level segment, the upper end has so far been dominated by the iPad. Samsung has made a few attempts at making a dent in this segment but has failed. As part of it’s attempt to throw mud at the wall and see what sticks, the Korean giant has created a ginormous tablet that doesn’t really solve any specific problems. Chang Dong-hoon, head of the mobile design team at Samsung Electronics offered to resign last week and has since been replaced according to a report published by Reuters. Lee Min-hyouk, the VP for Mobile Design at Samsung will be replacing Chang. Lee is well known for being the youngest senior executive at Samsung. Pebble gets a minor firmware update, iOS and Android apps also updated

The Pebble smartwatch, one of the forerunners in the rapidly expanding wearables market, has been going through a transformation in software rather than hardware for quite a while now, since the introduction of more capabilities in its v2.0 update. Today, it has gotten its .1 release, a minor update to the Smartwatch’s firmware which is mostly bug fixes and a couple of new features. Also updated are the official iOS and Android apps, which have gained a minor update with bug fixes mostly. The updates are a sign of platform maturity, as big feature releases for the hardware are almost done, in our opinion, but hey, we always love surprises.

Lava launched the Iris 504Q+ successor of the Iris 504Q last month. We already brought you the unboxing and the photo gallery of the smartphone. Here we have the benchmarks of the device. It is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor with ARM Cortex A7 cores and Mali 400 GPU, similar to Xolo Q1010i that was launched recently. Flipkart will soon launch Flipkart First, an annual priority subscription service

Flipkart is India’s largest online retailer and by the look of things, they are in no hurry to get off that spot. Owing to stiff competition from the globally acclaimed Amazon, Flipkart have introduced a slew of features like In a Day delivery followed by Same Day delivery. Those aren’t the first in the world offerings, but definitely the first in India helping Flipkart seal their place at the top of the table.

LG G3 rumored to be the first smartphone with Snapdragon 805 SoC

LG is the only company that is yet to announce its flagship device and it will probably be the best of what 2014 has to offer.
